Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VNSGU) Guest Scholar Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

VNSGU has released an employment notice for 1 Temporary Guest Scholar post at its Centre for Hindu Studies, under the Tirthankar Ajitnath Jain Study Programme (TAJSP) — a project run jointly with the Vardhman Charitable Foundation. This is a purely contractual role for an initial 11 months, and the University may extend it further depending on the project's continuation, your performance, and fund availability. Candidates specializing in Jain Studies, Sanskrit, or Indian Philosophy get preference, making this a great opportunity for scholars working in Indology and religious studies.

Under this project, you will actively participate in academic, research, extension, seminar, workshop, examination, evaluation, mentoring, outreach, and administrative activities linked to TAJSP. Your work will also be reviewed periodically, with an annual performance evaluation as per the TAJSP MoU and University regulations.

Since this is a project-based appointment, you will not have any claim to a regular or permanent position, seniority, or additional service benefits beyond what is approved under the project.

Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: You need a Master's Degree with at least 55% marks from an Indian University in Jain Studies, Religious Studies, Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), Hindu Studies, Sanskrit, Indian Philosophy, Indian Culture, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: You must have at least 3 years of teaching experience, or experience in religious activities, ideology, or Jain tradition.
  • Preference: Candidates specializing in Jain Studies, Comparative Religion, Indian Philosophy, Hindu Studies, IKS, Sanskrit, Prakrit, Religious Studies, Ethics, History, or Culture will be preferred during shortlisting.

Salary

  • You will get a consolidated remuneration of Rs. 1,00,000 per month for this position.
  • This is a fixed, all-inclusive salary — you will not get DA, HRA, pension, gratuity, or any other allowances unless separately approved by the University.

Application Fee

  • All Candidates: No Fee — you can apply online completely free of cost.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

VNSGU will select the Guest Scholar through the following process:

  1. Shortlisting: The University will shortlist candidates based on their academic credentials, teaching experience, research contributions, and publications.
