UOR Post Doctoral Fellow and Project Assistant Recruitment 2026: Overview

The Department of Sociology, University of Rajasthan (UOR), Jaipur is hiring Post Doctoral Fellows and Project Assistants for Project XIV under RUSA 2.0. The project studies Sustainable Livelihood Choices and Capacity Building among People Living with HIV in Rajasthan State, and it is funded by the Government of India through the RUSA 2.0 programme.

These are short contractual research posts of about four months, so they fit you if you want quick, hands-on project experience in health and development sociology. The project is led by Dr. Amithy Jasrotia as Principal Investigator, and the selection is a simple email application followed by an interview for shortlisted names.

Posts and Disciplines

• Post Doctoral Fellow: the senior research role on the project, open to PhD holders from sociology, anthropology, public health or health and hospital management. Strong academic writing, field work methods and data tools such as SPSS, Atlas.ti or SAS will count in your favour, and so will proof of publications.
• Project Assistant: the field-facing role, open to Master's graduates from the social sciences, public health, statistics, development studies or health management. Field work experience and the ability to speak the Rajasthani dialect give you an edge, since the project works with communities across the state.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: Temporary, contractual engagement for 4 months within the research project.
• Fellowship: Paid as per the funding agency's norms; the notice does not print a figure.
• Interview call: Only shortlisted candidates get an email about the interview, sent to the address in your bio-data.
• No TA/DA: You travel to the interview at your own cost.
• Performance clause: The university can end the contract of a non-performing candidate at any time without prior notice.
