VNSGU, Surat, has released an employment notice for 1 Guest Scholar position at its Centre for Hindu Studies, under a Memorandum of Understanding between VNSGU and the Vardhman Charitable Foundation. This is a purely contractual role for 11 months under the Tirthankar Ajitnath Jain Study Programme (TAJSP), which promotes teaching and research in Jain Studies, Indian Philosophy, and related disciplines. Applications are free of cost — candidates with a strong academic background in Jain Studies, Sanskrit, Prakrit or allied fields are encouraged to apply.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need a Master's Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) in a relevant subject from a recognized university.
• Additional Requirement: You must have qualified GSET/UGC-NET, or hold a Ph.D. degree as per applicable UGC Regulations.
• Preferred: Teaching or research experience in Jain Studies, Indian Philosophy, Religious Studies, Sanskrit, Prakrit, History, or allied disciplines is preferred.

Salary

• The selected Guest Scholar will get a consolidated salary of Rs. 1,00,000 per month.
• This is a fixed remuneration — you will not be entitled to DA, HRA, pension, gratuity or other benefits unless specifically approved by the University.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written exam for this post. Selection is based on:

1. Screening of Academic Credentials: The University shortlists candidates based on their qualifications, teaching experience, research contributions and publications.
2. Selection Committee Review: A Selection Committee constituted as per the TAJSP MoU and University rules makes the final decision, which is binding.
