VNSGU has issued Employment Notice No. GAD/TAP/E.N./16832/2026 dated 21 July 2026 for 2 Temporary Assistant Professor posts in Chemistry (covering Organic, Inorganic, Physical, and Analytical specializations) under the Grant-in-Aid (GIA) scheme for Academic Year 2026-27. No separate online application needs to be submitted — eligible candidates can walk in directly for the interview. The contract runs for 11 months, or until a regular candidate joins, whichever is earlier.

• Chemistry (Faculty of Science): 2 posts — 1 reserved for PwD (Persons with Disabilities) under the Open category, and 1 reserved for Women under the SEBC category.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Master's degree in Chemistry (specialization in Organic/Inorganic/Physical/Analytical Chemistry), meeting the eligibility criteria prescribed under UGC Regulations, 2018 for Assistant Professor posts.
• Reservation: SC/ST/SEBC/EWS/Women and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities reservation applies as per Gujarat government policy.
• If your mark sheets show CGPA, you must submit a CGPA-to-percentage conversion certificate from your university.
• Note: Any additional qualifications, publications, or experience gained after the application deadline and before the interview date will not be considered. Providing misleading or false information will lead to disqualification, even after appointment.
• Incomplete applications will not be considered, and any form of canvassing — direct or indirect — will result in disqualification.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a consolidated remuneration of Rs. 40,000 per month, or an amount finalized by the university authorities.
• This is a fixed contractual honorarium — no separate CPC pay scale or grade pay applies.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is done through a single stage:

1. Walk-in Interview: Held on 4 August 2026 at 12:00 PM in Room No. 10116 (Veer Narmad Auditorium), Ground Floor, Administrative Building, VNSGU Campus, Surat.

The Selection Committee reserves the right to fill the post with a suitable specialization if required, and its decision is final. The appointment is made under the Gujarat Public Universities Act, 2023 and Gujarat Public Universities Uniform Statutes, 2024, along with UGC/AICTE/NCTE norms. Your performance as Temporary Assistant Professor will be reviewed by the university after 6 months.
