UPPSC LT Grade Assistant Teacher Recruitment 2025 — 7466 Posts

Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) announced this recruitment under Advertisement No. A-5/E-1/2025 dated 28.07.2025 for the post of Assistant Teacher, Trained Graduate Grade in Government Inter Colleges (GIC) across Uttar Pradesh. The recruitment covers both Male Branch (4,860 posts) and Female Branch (2,525 posts), plus 81 posts for PwBD candidates under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities. This is one of the biggest teacher recruitment drives in UP — covering 15 subjects from Hindi and English to Computer Science and Agriculture.

Who Can Apply?

Essential Qualification:

  • Graduation: You need a Bachelor's degree with the concerned subject from a recognised University in India.
  • B.Ed: Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) from an NCTE-recognised institution. OR Degree of Education (B.Ed) in a course recognised by NCTE in India.

Subject-specific Requirements:

  • Hindi: Graduation with Hindi as subject + B.Ed with Hindi, or Sahitya Ratna/equivalent from UP Sanskrit Shiksha Parishad
  • English: Graduation with English Literature + B.Ed
  • Maths: Graduation with Maths as main subject + B.Ed
  • Science: Graduation with Physics and Chemistry as subjects + B.Ed
  • Social Science: Graduation in at least two subjects from History, Geography, Political Science and Economics + B.Ed
  • Computer: B.Tech/B.E. (Computer Science) or MCA or Graduate in Computer Application + B.Ed
  • Agriculture/Horticulture: Graduation in Agriculture/Horticulture + B.Ed

Preferred Qualification:

  • Served in the Territorial Army for a minimum period of two years
  • Obtained a "B" certificate of National Cadet Corps

For Special Teachers (PwBD Posts):

  • Trained Graduate Teacher (Sparsh School for Visually/Samekit): Bachelor's degree + B.Ed + Diploma in special education (Visually Impaired) or Visually Impaired Teaching recognised by RCI
  • Trained Graduate Teacher (Sanskul School for Deaf and Dumb/Samekit): Bachelor's degree + B.Ed + Diploma in special education (Hearing Impaired) recognised by RCI
  • Special Teachers (Prayaas School for Physically Handicapped): Bachelor's degree + Diploma in Locomotor Disability/Cerebral Palsy recognised by RCI

Age Limit

  • You should be between 21 and 40 years old as on 01 July 2025.
  • This means your date of birth should be between 02 July 1985 and 01 July 2004.
  • SC/ST (UP): Upper age relaxation of 5 years (up to 45 years)
  • OBC (UP): Upper age relaxation of 3 years (up to 43 years)
  • PwBD: Additional 15 years relaxation over category limit
  • Ex-Servicemen: Age relaxation as per UP government rules
  • Freedom Fighters' dependents: Age relaxation as per UP government rules
  • Note: Age relaxation for reserved categories applies only to candidates who are permanent residents of UP.

Salary

  • Selected candidates will get a salary in the range of Rs. 44,900 to Rs. 1,42,400 per month under Pay Level 7 of the 7th Pay Commission.
  • Grade Pay: Rs. 4,600
  • You will also get DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as per UP Government rules.
  • The approximate in-hand salary is around Rs. 49,000 to Rs. 55,000 per month initially, depending on your posting location.

  • SC / ST: Rs. 65 (Rs. 45 exam fee + Rs. 20 online processing fee)

Selection Process

The selection is done in 3 stages:

  1. Preliminary Examination (Screening): 150 objective-type MCQs for 150 marks. Duration: 2 hours. OMR-based offline exam. Includes 30 questions from General Studies and 120 from the concerned subject. Negative marking of 1/3 mark per wrong answer. Qualifying marks: 40% (General), 35% (SC/ST). The prelims have already been conducted in December 2025 and January 2026.
  2. Main Examination (Descriptive): 200 marks in 3 hours. Includes 20 mandatory questions — short answers (125 words, 8 marks each) and long answers (200 words, 12 marks each). For Social Science, there are 4 sections (Geography, History, Economics and Civics) with 60 questions each, and you choose any 2 sections to answer.
  3. Document Verification: Original certificates and documents will be checked. Candidates must bring self-attested copies of all certificates.

Note: There is no interview for this recruitment. Selection is based on the combined merit of Preliminary and Main examination.

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned subjects to students of Classes 6 to 10 as per the approved curriculum
  • Prepare lesson plans, study materials, and question papers for the subject
  • Evaluate student assignments, class tests, and examinations regularly
  • Keep proper attendance records and maintain student progress reports
  • Follow school rules and instructions from the Principal and education department
  • Assist in organising school events, sports activities, and cultural programmes
  • Guide students in academic matters and help them prepare for board exams
  • Participate in teacher training programmes and workshops when required

The UPPSC LT Grade Teacher exam has two stages — Preliminary (Screening) and Mains (Descriptive).

Preliminary Examination (Already Conducted)

  • Duration: 2 hours
  • General Studies: 30 questions
  • Subject Concerned: 120 questions
