BHU Biochemistry Project Staff Recruitment 2026: Overview

Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, is filling project posts in the Department of Biochemistry, Institute of Science. The posts belong to an ICMR-sponsored CAR project (BHU code P-14/0832) led by Principal Investigator Prof. Rakesh K. Singh.

The project is titled "Development of novel therapeutic formulations for improved lesion resolution and skin repigmentation in post-kala-azar dermal leishmaniasis" and is sanctioned for five years. If you have a life-science background and want hands-on research experience on a skin complication of kala-azar, this drive gives you a scientist-level option and a technical-support option.

Posts and Disciplines

• Project Research Scientist-II (Non-Medical): the senior research role on the project, open to postgraduates with research experience or PhD holders. Experience in parasitic immunology is preferred but not compulsory.
• Project Technical Support-III: the technical support role on the same project, open to graduates with experience or postgraduates.
• Subjects accepted for both posts: Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Zoology, Molecular and Human Genetics, Life Sciences, Microbiology or a relevant subject.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The posts are temporary and co-terminus with the project — they end when the project ends.
• Nationality: Only Indian citizens can apply.
• Different age cut-offs: The upper age limit is not the same for the two posts, so check the one for your post before applying.
• Interview travel: No TA/DA is paid if you are called for the interview.
