Who Can Apply?

Professor - 44 posts:

• Qualification: A postgraduate medical degree — MD, MS, DM, MCh or DNB — in the concerned specialty, along with the teaching/professional experience prescribed by the Medical Education Department for the Professor cadre.

Assistant Professor - 1112 posts:

• Qualification: A postgraduate medical degree — MD, MS, DM, MCh or DNB — in the concerned specialty, recognized by the Medical Council/National Medical Commission.

• General: You must be an Indian citizen with valid registration from the National Medical Commission (NMC) or a State Medical Council.
• Reservation: Category-wise reservation for SC, ST, OBC, EWS and PwBD candidates applies as per Uttar Pradesh government rules.

One Time Registration (OTR) on the UPPSC portal is compulsory before you apply for either post.

Age Limit

• Professor: You should be between 35 and 55 years old.
• Assistant Professor: You should be between 26 and 40 years old.
• Age is calculated as on 1 July 2026.

Salary

• Assistant Professor gets Rs. 57,700 to Rs. 1,82,400 per month under Pay Level-10 of the 7th Central Pay Commission.
• Professor pay is fixed under a higher Pay Level as per Medical Education Department norms (see the official notification for exact figures).
• You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Uttar Pradesh government rules.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in up to 3 stages:
