About This Recruitment

Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS), Bal Vikas Pariyojana, Bahraich under the Women & Child Development Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh has released a notification for 214 Anganwadi Worker (Karyakarta) posts. These posts are spread across 15 blocks of Bahraich district. Only women candidates can apply for this recruitment.

Who Can Apply?

• Only women candidates are eligible
• Minimum qualification: Intermediate (Class 12) pass from a recognized board
• Age limit: 18 to 35 years as on 01-01-2026
• Residency: You must be a permanent resident of the same ward or village where the post is vacant
• Experience: No experience needed. Freshers can apply

Salary

This is an honorarium-based post (not a regular government salary). You will get approximately Rs. 6,000 to Rs. 7,000 per month (Central share Rs. 4,500 + State share Rs. 1,500). You will also get a Festival Bonus of Rs. 1,000 per year and Uniform Allowance of Rs. 500 per year.

Selection Process

Selection is based on merit only. There is no written exam and no interview.

• Merit will be calculated from your marks in Intermediate, Graduation, and Post-Graduation
• If two candidates have equal marks, the older candidate will get preference
• After the merit list is prepared, document verification will be done

Preference will be given in this order:

1. BPL widow from the same Gram Sabha/Ward
2. BPL divorced or abandoned woman
3. BPL woman
4. APL widow
5. APL divorced or abandoned woman
6. APL woman of the same Gram Sabha/Ward

• Visit homes in the assigned area and keep track of pregnant women, newborn babies, and young children
• Run the Anganwadi Centre and provide early childhood education to children aged 3 to 6 years
• Distribute supplementary nutrition to children, pregnant women, and nursing mothers
• Spread awareness about health, nutrition, hygiene, and family planning in the community
• Help with immunization drives and health check-ups in the area
• Keep records of births, deaths, and growth of children in the assigned village or ward
• Work with the ANM and ASHA worker for better health services in the community
• Report to the Anganwadi Supervisor about the progress and issues in the centre
