Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) Secretary Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released notification No. 1-02/2026-HR for filling up the post of Secretary at TRAI Headquarters in New Delhi on deputation on foreign service terms. TRAI is a statutory body established under the TRAI Act, 1997, responsible for regulating telecommunications services and protecting the interests of consumers and service providers. The appointment is initially for a period of two years. Senior government officers currently serving in Level 14 or Level 15 positions across Central and State Government departments, PSUs, and autonomous bodies can apply for this prestigious role.

Who Can Apply?

Eligibility Criteria:

• Source of Recruitment: Officers from Central Government, State Governments, Union Territory Administrations, autonomous bodies, statutory organisations, public sector undertakings, recognised universities, or recognised research institutions.
• Option 1: You must be holding an analogous post (Level 15) on regular basis in your parent cadre or department.
• Option 2: You must have completed 4 years of service in Level 14 (Rs. 1,44,200 to Rs. 2,18,200) after regular appointment in your parent cadre or department.

Educational Qualification:

• Essential: Bachelor's degree from a recognised university or institute.
• Experience Required: You need experience in the field of telecommunications, industry, finance, accountancy, law, management, or consumer affairs.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 58 years on the last date of submission of applications (i.e., as on 10 April 2026).
• No age relaxation has been mentioned in the notification.

Salary

• Selected candidate will draw salary at Pay Level 15 in the 7th CPC Pay Matrix.
• Basic pay range: Rs. 1,82,200 to Rs. 2,24,100 per month.
• You will also receive Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and other allowances as per Central Government rules.
• The deputation terms will be governed by DoP&T OM No. 6/8/2009-Estt. (Pay II) dated 17 June 2010, as amended.
