IGCAR Trade Apprentice Recruitment 2026 — 200 Vacancies

IGCAR is hiring 200 ITI Trade Apprentices across 18 trades at its Kalpakkam campus in Tamil Nadu. If you have an ITI pass certificate in a relevant trade, you can apply online. The last date to apply is 19 August 2026. You should be between 18 and 24 years old as on the closing date. Selected apprentices get a stipend of Rs. 10,560 to Rs. 11,040 per month.

Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR) Trade Apprentice Engagement 2026 - 200 Posts

The Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), a research and development centre under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, has released Advertisement No. IGCAR/03/2026 (bilingual, English and Hindi) to engage 200 ITI Trade Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961, and its subsequent amendments. Training will be conducted entirely at IGCAR, Kalpakkam, Chengalpattu district, Tamil Nadu, for a duration of one year. The trades on offer include Fitter, Turner, Electrician, Electronic Mechanic, Instrument Mechanic and more. 8 vacancies are reserved for PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities) candidates.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need a valid ITI pass certificate in the trade you want to apply for.
• Trades on Offer: Fitter, Turner, Machinist, Electrician, Mechanical Machine Tool Maintenance, Electronic Mechanic, Instrument Mechanic, Draughtsman (Mechanical), Wood Work Technician/Carpenter, Mason/Civil Mistry, Book Binder, PASAA, Photography and Process Plant Operator.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 24 years old as on 19 August 2026 (the closing date of the online application).
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST candidates get 5 years, OBC (NCL) candidates get 3 years, and PwBD candidates get 10 years relaxation in the upper age limit.

Salary

• You will get a stipend of Rs. 11,040 per month if you have completed a 2-year ITI trade course.
• You will get a stipend of Rs. 10,560 per month if you have completed a 1-year ITI trade course.
• These stipend amounts follow the Apprenticeship (Amendment) Rules, 2025 (Gazette Notification No. G.S.R. 610(E) dated 03-09-2025) issued by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

Selection Process

Your selection is based on the following steps:

1. Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted based on the percentage of marks scored in their ITI course, for the trade they applied to.
2. Document Verification: Your ITI certificate and other documents are checked.
3. Medical Examination
4. Physical Fitness Check

3. Fill in the online application form and select your preferred trade.
4. Upload your ITI certificate and other required documents.
5. Submit the form before 19 August 2026.
