Tata Memorial Centre Director Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), an autonomous body under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, has released a notification (Advt. No. TMC/AD/55/2026) to fill 1 permanent Director post at HBCH/MPMMCC in Varanasi. TMC is a comprehensive cancer centre affiliated to Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI), a deemed university. This is a senior leadership role — the Director will lead patient care, research, and education in oncology at the Varanasi centre. Only senior oncology professionals with proven managerial and academic record should apply.

Who Can Apply?

• Educational Qualification: Postgraduate medical degree such as MD / DM / MS / M.Ch recognised by NMC, OR a Doctoral qualification in Public Health / Research in Oncology from a recognised university.
• Essential Experience: 15 years of experience (after the required qualification) as a full-time professional in cancer treatment and related research, OR 15 years of experience in public health research in the field of oncology.
• Desirable Experience: Persons working in a cancer set-up with a proven record of service are preferred.
• Leadership: You must have outstanding leadership qualities, high academic credentials, and proven managerial experience in administrative roles.

Age Limit

• You should be between 45 and 55 years old as on 19 June 2026.
• You must have at least 2 years of residual service left as on the last date of application.
• Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for PWD (additional 5 for SC/ST PWD, 3 for OBC PWD).
• Ex-servicemen: Length of service in Armed Forces plus 3 years (with additional relaxation for reserved categories).
• TMC employees: Up to 5 years relaxation for TMC employees and contract/project staff.

Salary

• Pay: Rs. 1,44,200 per month (Level 14, Cell 1 of the Pay Matrix)
• Pre-revised pay scale: PB-4, Rs. 37,400 - 67,000 + Rs. 10,000 Grade Pay
• You will also get DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as per TMC rules.
• Other benefits: Residential accommodation (subject to availability), medical facility, retirement benefits and pension under the New Pension Scheme, and institutional financial support for national and international medical conferences after probation.

Selection Process

Selection is through screening and interview:

1. Screening: Candidates will be shortlisted based on the information provided in the online application form.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview.
3. Document Verification: You must bring original documents (date of birth, qualification, experience, caste, EWS, disability certificate as applicable) along with a copy.
