SLPRB Assam Constable (UB & AB) Recruitment 2026

The State Level Police Recruitment Board, Assam (SLPRB Assam) has invited online applications for the post of Constable (Unarmed Branch) and Constable (Armed Branch) under the Home & Political Department, Government of Assam. A total of 1,715 vacancies are available. The application portal has been reopened and the last date to apply is 28 February 2026.

• Constable (UB - Unarmed Branch): 1,052 posts
• Constable (AB - Armed Branch): 663 posts
• Total: 1,715 posts

Category Reservation:

• OBC/MOBC: 27%
• SC: 7%
• ST (Plains): 10%
• ST (Hills): 5%

Women Reservation: 30% for UB posts, 10% for AB posts.

Who Can Apply (Eligibility)

Education:

• Constable UB: You need to pass Class 12 (HS) from a recognised board.
• Constable AB: You need to pass Class 10 (HSLC) from a recognised board.

Age Limit:

• Minimum age: 18 years
• Maximum age: 26 years (as on 01 January 2026)
• Age relaxation: SC/ST candidates get 5 years, OBC/MOBC candidates get 3 years.

Other Conditions:

• You must be an Indian citizen and a permanent resident of Assam.
• You must be registered with the local Employment Exchange in Assam.
• You must be medically and physically fit as per the standards given in the notification.

Physical Standards

Height (Male):

• General/OBC/SC: 162.5 cm
• ST: 160 cm

Height (Female):

• General/OBC/SC: 154 cm
• ST: 152 cm

Chest (Male only): Minimum 80 cm with 5 cm expansion.

Salary

• Pay Scale: Rs. 14,000 - Rs. 70,000 per month
• Grade Pay: Rs. 5,600
• Allowances: DA, HRA, Transport Allowance, Kit Allowance, Special Maintenance Allowance
• Estimated In-Hand Salary: Rs. 19,488 - Rs. 82,000 per month

Selection Process

The selection will be done in 5 stages:

1. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
   • Male: 3,200 metre race + Long Jump (+ Chin Up for AB candidates)
   • Female: 1,600 metre race + Long Jump
2. Medical Examination & Physical Standard Test (PST)
3. Document Verification
4. Written Test - 100 MCQ questions, 50 marks, Class 9-10 level, no negative marking
5. Oral/Viva-Voce - 5 marks

4. Upload your photo, signature, and other documents as asked.
5. Check all details and submit the form.
6. Take a printout of the submitted application for your records.

Important Changes (Corrigendum)

• The upper age limit has been increased from 25 years to 26 years.
