AIIMS Guwahati Project Nurse II Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Guwahati, a statutory body under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, has invited applications for 1 Project Nurse II position under the extramural research project titled "Reducing the Burden of Cardiovascular Events with Antiplatelet Therapy in Patients with Intracerebral Hemorrhage: BEAT-ICH India". The project is led by Dr. Masaraf Hussain, Principal Investigator at the Department of Neurology, and is sanctioned for up to 3 years. Selected candidates may register for the PhD program of AIIMS Guwahati, subject to admission requirements.

Who Can Apply?

• Essential Qualification: Three-year General Nursing & Midwife (GNM) Course with a minimum second class or equivalent CGPA
• Desirable: Research experience and basic computer knowledge
• The position is full-time — you cannot hold any other job simultaneously
• Candidates already in government service must submit a No Objection Certificate at the time of interview

Age Limit

• Maximum age: less than 35 years
• Age relaxation is admissible as per Government of India guidelines

Salary

• Monthly consolidated salary: Rs. 20,000 per month
• Plus HRA as applicable
• The appointment is initially for one year; extension up to the end of the project (3 years) is based on performance
• No accommodation will be provided by the Institute

Selection Process (No Written Exam by default)

Selection is interview-based:

1. Application Screening: Eligible candidates will be shortlisted from the emailed applications.
2. Shortlist Publication: List of shortlisted candidates will be published on the AIIMS Guwahati website before the interview.
3. Offline Interview: The interview will be held at AIIMS Guwahati. Bring originals plus self-attested copies of all documents.
4. Optional Written Test: Depending on the number of applications, the department may conduct a written exam at AIIMS Guwahati to shortlist candidates.
5. Final Selection: Subject to approval of Executive Director, AIIMS Guwahati. Result will be published on the AIIMS Guwahati website.

• Assist the Principal Investigator in patient recruitment for the BEAT-ICH India clinical trial
• Handle clinical care and nursing duties for intracerebral hemorrhage patients enrolled in the project
• Monitor patients on antiplatelet therapy and record clinical outcomes accurately
• Maintain detailed case record forms, follow-up schedules, and trial documentation
• Coordinate with treating doctors and the research team during ward rounds and follow-up visits
• Educate patients and family members about the trial protocol and informed consent process
• Prepare data entry sheets and assist with data management using computer-based research tools
• Follow ICMR ethical guidelines and good clinical practice (GCP) at every stage
