The State Organ & Tissue Transplant Organization (SOTTO) at the North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS), Shillong, has invited applications for four contractual positions to support organ donation and transplantation activities in the State. This recruitment is conducted with the support of the National Organ & Tissue Transplant Organization (NOTTO), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Who Can Apply?

1. Joint Director (Technical) - Rs. 1,20,000/month

  • Qualification: MBBS, MD/MS or DM/MCH in any medical speciality or super speciality
  • Experience: 6 years in the speciality (non-teaching cadre) OR 13 years for GDO cadre
  • Experience in Organ Donation and procurement at supervisory level
  • Participation in global/regional/country meetings, symposiums or workshops on organ procurement and transplantation, especially cadaveric donation
  • Age: Not above 62 years (relaxable in exceptional cases)

2. Consultant (IEC & Media) - Rs. 60,000/month

  • Qualification: Post Graduate in Mass Communication / Journalism
  • Experience: Sufficient experience handling Mass Media division in a Government setup or PSU
  • Age: Not above 40 years

3. Transplant Coordinator - Rs. 35,000/month

  • Qualification: Graduate of any recognised system of medicine, OR a Nurse, OR a Bachelor's degree in Health Science or any subject (preferably with PG in Social Science)
  • Background in Social Science with experience preferred
  • Sufficient training in Tissue Banking preferred — candidates with previous Tissue Bank work experience will be given preference
  • Age: Not above 40 years

4. Programme Assistant / Data Entry Operator - Rs. 25,000/month

  • Qualification: Graduate from a recognised university
  • Computer Diploma: One-year Diploma in Computer Proficiency from a Government-recognised institute
  • Age: Not above 40 years

Age Limit

  • Joint Director (Technical): Not above 62 years (relaxable in exceptional cases)
  • All other posts: Not above 40 years

Salary

  • Joint Director (Technical): Rs. 1,20,000 per month (consolidated)
  • Consultant (IEC & Media): Rs. 60,000 per month (consolidated)
  • Transplant Coordinator: Rs. 35,000 per month (consolidated)
  • Programme Assistant / Data Entry Operator: Rs. 25,000 per month (consolidated)
  • Initial tenure: 1 year, with possibility of extension based on performance and organisational requirements

Selection Process

  1. Walk-in Interview: All candidates must appear in person at NEIGRIHMS, Shillong on 20 June 2026.
  2. Document Verification: Self-attested copies of educational certificates, age proof, caste certificate (if applicable), address proof, two passport-size photographs and experience certificates will be verified at the venue.
  3. Final Selection will be based on interview performance, qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Handle organ donation and tissue transplantation activities at the State level under SOTTO NEIGRIHMS
  • Coordinate with NOTTO, hospitals and donor families for cadaveric organ procurement and allocation
  • Manage IEC (Information, Education and Communication) campaigns and media outreach for organ donation awareness
  • Maintain donor and recipient records and ensure data entry as per SOTTO protocols
  • Liaise with hospitals, transplant centres and government bodies for tissue bank operations
  • Prepare daily reports and maintain records as per State Organ & Tissue Transplant Organization formats
  • Assist in training programmes, workshops and policy implementation for organ donation in Meghalaya
