IISER Tirupati Research Associate-1 Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Tirupati has released Advertisement No. 36/2026 for one Research Associate-1 post under a DBT-funded research project. The project is titled Unravelling priming-triggered signaling mechanisms in Arabidopsis thaliana and falls under the Plant Stress Biology research area, led by Principal Investigator Dr Annapurna Devi Allu. There is no written exam — shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. Freshers with a Ph.D. (or thesis submitted) in plant biology can apply.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have a Ph.D. degree in any area of Plant Sciences, Life Sciences or Molecular Biology with research on plants.
• Thesis Submitted: If your thesis is submitted and the Ph.D. award is awaited, you can also apply (you must produce a letter from the competent authority stating thesis submitted and viva pending).
• Research Evidence: You should provide evidence of high-quality research conducted during or after your Ph.D.
• Desirable Skills: Hands-on experience with Arabidopsis, bioinformatics, and advanced molecular biology techniques will give you an edge.
• Nationality: Only Indian nationals can apply.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 35 years as of the closing date of the advertisement (31 May 2026).

Salary

• If you have your Ph.D. Certificate in hand: Rs. 58,000 per month + 9% HRA
• If your Ph.D. degree is awaited (thesis submitted, viva pending): Rs. 42,000 per month + 9% HRA
• A nominal research grant will also be available under this program.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on:

1. Screening by Committee: The Project Leader will shortlist candidates based on qualifications and experience above the minimum.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. Performance in the interview is the sole criteria for selection.

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
