Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad — a century-old institute established in 1926 — has released Advertisement No. 411002/6/2026-NFR for 3 Junior Coaching Assistant posts on Direct Recruitment basis, one each for Table Tennis, Cricket, and Basketball. Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Graduation in any subject and a Diploma in Coaching (minimum 55% marks) from SAI/NS-NIS or another recognized institution in the relevant sport.
• Alternative (for international sports persons): 10+2 and Diploma in Coaching (minimum 55% marks) from SAI/NS-NIS or a recognized institution, along with participation in the Olympic Games, Senior World Championship, Asian Games/Sr. Asian Championship, Commonwealth Games/Sr. Commonwealth Championship, or Youth Olympics.
• Experience: 2 years of coaching experience in the relevant sport at any recognized institution or organisation.
• Desirable: relevant coaching/training experience at reputed higher education institutions.
• If you are currently employed in the Central/State Government, a PSU, or an Autonomous Body, you must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your employer at the time of selection; you may apply without it as an advance copy, but the NOC will be mandatory later.

Age Limit

• Maximum age limit: 30 years, counted as on the closing date of application (3 September 2026).
• Age Relaxation: As per Government of India norms for SC/ST candidates against reserved posts.
• 5 years relaxation for candidates who have served at least 3 years on a regular post in this Institute or other IITs/NITs/CFTIs (not applicable to employees of private organizations).
• Standard GoI age relaxation also applies to regular Central/State Government employees, Ex-Servicemen, and Meritorious Sports Persons.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a salary of Rs. 21,700 to Rs. 69,100 per month under Pay Level 3 of the 7th Pay Commission.
• You will also get DA, HRA, and other allowances as per Central Government rules.

Selection Process
