Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), Mumbai is hiring 1 Senior Resident in the Department of Nuclear Medicine on a one-year contract basis at Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital & Research Centre (HBCH&RC), New Chandigarh, Punjab. If you have an MD or DNB in Nuclear Medicine or equivalent postgraduate degree recognised by MCI/NMC, you can attend the walk-in interview. The walk-in is open from 18 May 2026 onwards till the post is filled. Age limit is up to 40 years. Salary is Rs. 1,33,623 per month (gross) for MD/DNB and Rs. 1,45,530 per month (gross) for Specialist Senior Resident with DM/DrNB.

Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), Mumbai — a grant-in-aid institution under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India — has issued Advertisement No. TMC/ADVT/86/2026 dated 19.05.2026 inviting applications from Indian nationals for the post of Senior Resident in the Department of Nuclear Medicine. This is a tenure-based appointment for one year from the date of joining with placement at the HBCH&RC New Chandigarh centre, with possible rotation across TMC units. No written exam — selection is purely through a walk-in interview.

Who Can Apply?

Essential Qualification

  • MD / DNB (Nuclear Medicine) OR an equivalent postgraduate degree recognised by the Medical Council of India (MCI) / National Medical Commission (NMC).

For Specialist Senior Resident (higher pay)

  • DM / Dr.NB (Nuclear Medicine) is required.

Other Requirements

  • You must be an Indian National.
  • Working candidates under Central / State Government / Autonomous Body / Semi Government / PSU must obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their Head of Organization before the interview.
  • Experience will be counted only after completion of essential qualification.

Age Limit

  • Maximum age: 40 years as on the date of walk-in interview.
  • Age Relaxation:
  • SC / ST: 5 years
  • OBC: 3 years
  • PwD: 10 years (additional 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC)
  • Ex-Servicemen: length of service in Armed Forces plus 3 years
  • TMC employees / employees on temporary or contract basis in TMC: maximum 5 years

Salary

  • Senior Resident (MD / DNB): Rs. 1,33,623 per month (Gross Pay)
  • Specialist Senior Resident (DM / Dr.NB): Rs. 1,45,530 per month (Gross Pay)
  • The salary will be fixed based on the relevant work experience acquired after completion of the essential qualification.
  • Shared accommodation may be provided subject to availability, on a chargeable basis.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is done through a single-stage walk-in interview:

  1. Document Verification: Carry photocopies and originals of all certificates to the venue.
  2. Walk-in Interview: Personal interview with the selection panel at the Academics Department, HBCH&RC, New Chandigarh.

TMC reserves the right to fix the minimum eligibility standard and shortlist candidates based on factors like vacancy count and percentage of marks. The decision of the Director, HBCH&RC Punjab is final and binding.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical care to patients in the Department of Nuclear Medicine
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures under supervision
  • Interpret PET-CT, SPECT and other nuclear imaging scans
  • Assist consultants in handling radiopharmaceuticals and patient management
  • Maintain patient records and prepare clinical reports
  • Participate in academic activities, teaching residents and case discussions
  • Attend rounds, multidisciplinary tumour board meetings and outpatient clinics
  • Follow radiation safety protocols and HBCH&RC clinical guidelines

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

MD / DNB (Nuclear Medicine) or equivalent postgraduate degree recognised by MCI/NMC

Preferred Qualification

DM / Dr.NB (Nuclear Medicine) for Specialist Senior Resident pay grade

Required Skills

Clinical experience in Nuclear Medicine; PET-CT and SPECT interpretation; radiopharmaceutical handling; patient care
