The Office of the Commandant General, Home Guards, Karnataka has issued a publication for filling up vacant positions of Self-Volunteer Home Guard members in the Bengaluru South and Bengaluru Rural districts. Local resident candidates can collect and submit the application at the Office of the Commandant, Sheshadri Road, Near Freedom Park, Bengaluru - 560009. This is not a regular salaried job — Home Guards are part-time volunteers paid a daily wage when called for duty or training.

Who Can Apply?

• Educational Qualification: You must have passed 10th class (compulsory).
• Residence: You must be a local resident of Bengaluru South or Bengaluru Rural district.
• Physical Fitness: You must have good health and physical fitness.
• The position is open to both men and women.

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 19 years (above)
• Maximum age: 50 years
• Reference date for age is the date of application.

Daily Duty / Training Allowance

• Law & Order duty (Police Department): Rs. 800 per day
• Other duties / training in Bengaluru City: Rs. 600 per day
• Other duties / training in other locations / districts: Rs. 500 per day
• Weekly drill: Rs. 100 per drill (4 drills per month)
• Home Guards are paid only on the days they are called for duty or training.

Selection Process

Selection is by the Office of the Commandant, Home Guards. Steps typically include:

• Assist the Karnataka Police in maintaining law and order in your district
• Help with crowd control and traffic management during public events and festivals

• Support the police in patrolling and area security when assigned
• Maintain discipline and follow the orders of the Commandant and supervising officers
