The Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has released a walk-in interview notice for 33 faculty posts across broad specialty departments at its Medical College and Hospital in Kalaburagi, Karnataka. The engagement is purely on contract for one year, extendable up to three years based on your performance. No written exam is required - selection depends entirely on your qualifications and how you perform in a personal interview. Retired government doctors and doctors currently working in recognised private hospitals can also apply, along with fresh postgraduates.

Reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disability (PWD) follows prevailing Government of India guidelines. If PWD or other reserved-category candidates are not available for a post, ESIC will fill it from the general panel of walk-in candidates to maintain essential hospital services and meet NMC norms.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need an MBBS degree along with a postgraduate degree in the relevant broad specialty, meeting the latest NMC teacher qualification norms for the post you apply for.
• Registration: A valid registration with the Karnataka State Medical Council (KMC) or National Medical Commission (NMC) is compulsory.
• Who else can apply: Retired doctors from Central or State Government hospitals or PSUs in equivalent posts, and doctors working in recognised private medical institutions who meet the eligibility criteria, can also apply.
• NOC: If you are already employed, you must bring a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your present employer on the day of the interview.

Age Limit

• You should be under 69 years of age, including all category-wise relaxations, as per NMC norms.

Salary

• Professor: Rs. 2,48,850 per month (consolidated), plus TA and DA on TA as applicable.
• Associate Professor: Rs. 1,65,480 per month (consolidated), plus TA and DA on TA as applicable.
• Assistant Professor: Rs. 1,42,170 per month (consolidated), plus TA and DA on TA as applicable.
• No other allowances like DA, NPA or HRA are paid on top of this consolidated pay, and private practice is not allowed during your tenure.

Application Fee

• SC / ST / Female candidates: No fee
• All other categories: Rs. 300
• Payment mode: Demand Draft in favour of "ESI Corporation" payable at Kalaburagi, submitted along with your application form at the walk-in interview.
• The application fee, once paid, will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Selection Process

Selection will be done in the following steps:

1. Document Scrutiny: Your application and documents are checked by the scrutiny committee on the day of the walk-in interview.
2. Screening Test (if needed): If the number of applicants is high, the selection committee may hold a screening test to shortlist candidates.
3. Personal Interview: Final selection is based on your performance before the selection committee. You need at least 50% of the total marks to be considered eligible.
4. Medical Examination and Document Verification: Selected candidates must clear a medical exam and have their original certificates verified again before joining.

Once selected, you will also need to deposit a refundable caution/security deposit equal to one month's consolidated pay through a Demand Draft at the time of joining.

How to Apply

1. Download the application form attached to the official notification at esic.gov.in.
2. Fill in the form completely in the prescribed format.
3. Walk in for registration and document verification between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM on 29 July 2026 at the Office of the Dean, ESIC Medical College, Kalaburagi.
4. Carry all original certificates, self-attested photocopies, 2 passport-size photographs, and the Demand Draft for the application fee.
5. Attend the personal interview on 31 July 2026, from 9:00 AM onwards.

• Deliver lectures and practical or clinical training to MBBS and PG students in your department

• Handle outpatient, inpatient and emergency clinical duties in the hospital as required
• Participate in seminars, case discussions, journal clubs and other academic activities
• Mark attendance daily through the Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS)
• Mentor junior faculty, resident doctors and interns in the department
• Follow NMC and hospital protocols for patient care and medical education
• Support the department in preparing for NMC inspections and accreditation visits
