BEML Limited, a Miniratna Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Defence, has released Advertisement No. KP/S/12/2026 dated 8 July 2026 to fill 23 executive positions across its core business verticals — Defence & Aerospace, Rail & Metro, Power, Mining and Construction. BEML is currently scaling up production of Vande Bharat sleeper trains, metro rail coaches, high-mobility and armoured recovery vehicles, and defence engines, and this drive is meant to bring in experienced engineering and business leaders to support that expansion. Positions range from Deputy General Manager (Grade VII) to Executive Director (Grade X), so this is a serious opportunity for engineers and ex-defence officers with 10+ years in the automotive, defence, rail or heavy engineering sectors.

BEML has spent six decades building world-class products for India's core industrial sectors through its state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Karnataka. As the company expands into newer technology areas — AI-based mining equipment, high mobility armoured vehicles, and next-generation rail coaches — it is looking for professionals who can lead these initiatives end-to-end, from strategy and R&D to production and business growth.

Who Can Apply?

Since this recruitment covers multiple senior grades, the qualification and experience requirements are different for each post. Here is what is required for the key positions:

Head - Futuristic Product Innovation & Incubation Centre (Executive Director Gr-X / Chief General Manager Gr-IX):

• Full-time First Class Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electronics or EEE Engineering, with M.Tech/MS in Design from a recognized university.
• Minimum 25 years of professional experience for Executive Director, or 21 years for Chief General Manager, including at least 5 years in a senior engineering design and R&D role at a company with turnover above Rs. 1,000 crore.
• Desirable: Certification in Project Management; experience with high-mobility/armoured vehicles, UAVs, rail rolling stock, AI/robotics, or mining equipment.

Chief General Manager - Head, Armoured Business:

• Serving or retired Brigadier from the Indian Army with an Engineering degree, or equivalent.
• In-depth knowledge of Infantry Combat Vehicles, Armoured Fighting Vehicles and Armoured Recovery Vehicles, with at least 10 years of experience in Original Equipment and Overhaul activities (Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Assembly, Quality).
• Desirable: Experience with MCEME/EME School/ABWs, and coordination skills with Army HQ and units.

Chief General Manager - Head, Engine R&D:

• Full-time First Class Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
• Minimum 20 years of experience in the R&D department of an automobile company, with hands-on engine development experience.

General Manager - Construction Equipment Business:

• Full-time First Class Degree in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering.
• Minimum 19 years of post-qualification experience in construction or mining equipment manufacturing, with exposure to business operations, manufacturing or marketing.
• Desirable: PG Degree or MBA in Management.

Deputy General Manager - Engine Assembly:

• Full-time First Class Degree in Mechanical, Thermal or Automobile Engineering.
• Minimum 16 years of post-qualification experience in the diesel engine assembly area of an automobile company.
