National Testing Agency (NTA) is hiring 3 senior leadership posts — Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Chief Finance Officer (CFO), and General Manager-Human Resources (GM-HR). National Testing Agency (NTA) Senior Leadership Recruitment 2026 - 3 Posts

National Testing Agency (NTA), an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Education, Department of Higher Education, has released a recruitment notice (No. A-102(2)/1/2026-adm dated 16 May 2026) for three senior leadership positions on a contractual basis. NTA conducts entrance tests for premier higher education institutions across India. This is a chance to join the leadership of one of India's largest examination bodies. Experienced professionals from IT, finance, and HR backgrounds can apply.

Who Can Apply?

Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

  • Qualification: Master's Degree or Diploma in Technology or Management or equivalent from a reputed institution
  • Experience: Minimum 15 years in information technology, with at least 5 years in a CTO, CIO, Head of Technology or equivalent senior leadership role
  • Desirable: Experience in ed-tech, online assessment, or computer-based testing (CBT) domain

Chief Finance Officer (CFO)

  • Qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA) from ICAI; or Cost & Management Accountant (CMA) from ICMAI; or MBA (Finance) / PGDM (Finance); or Master's in Commerce / Economics / Finance from a recognised university
  • Experience: Minimum 15 years in Finance, Accounts, Audit and Treasury, with at least 5 years at CXO / CFO / Finance Controller / Head of Finance level in a large organisation
  • Desirable: Working knowledge of GFR 2017, DFPR, GeM, PFMS, e-billing, government treasury systems, and audit handling (C&AG, internal, statutory, PAC)

General Manager-Human Resources (GM-HR)

  • Qualification: MBA / Post-Graduate Degree / Post-Graduate Diploma in Human Resources Management or allied discipline (minimum 2-year full-time programme) from a recognised university. A Bachelor's degree from a recognised university is required. Additional law qualifications in labour/employment law are an advantage
  • Experience: Minimum 12 years in Human Resources, with at least 3 years at a senior HR leadership level (HR Head / Business HR Head / Senior HRBP) in a medium-to-large organisation
  • Desirable: Experience with Government of India, State Governments, PSUs or autonomous bodies, familiarity with FR/SR, CCS Rules, CDA Rules, deputation and re-employment norms

Age Limit

  • CTO and CFO: Preferably below 55 years as on the last date of application. Relaxation may be considered for exceptional candidates as per NTA norms
  • GM-HR: Preferably below 50 years as on the last date of application. Relaxation may be considered for exceptional candidates as per NTA norms

Salary

  • Consolidated monthly remuneration commensurate with your qualifications, experience and industry benchmarks, to be decided by the competent authority

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic technology, finance or HR leadership to the Director General and senior management of NTA
  • Interface with Ministry of Education, NIC, C-DAC, CERT-In, C&AG and other Government stakeholders (post-specific)
  • Build and mentor high-performing in-house teams across technology, finance or HR functions
  • Institutionalise governance, cyber-security, financial controls, or HR policies as per Government norms
  • Manage technology vendors, audit handling, or labour-law compliance based on assigned role
  • Travel to test centres, partner institutions, and stakeholder offices across India when required
  • Drive innovation, compliance and operational discipline in NTA's day-to-day functioning

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

Master's Degree or PG Diploma in relevant discipline (Technology / Management / HR) or Chartered Accountant / CMA / MBA Finance, depending on post applied

Preferred Qualification

Experience in ed-tech / CBT / online assessment for CTO; knowledge of GFR, PFMS, GeM for CFO; experience with Government / PSU / autonomous bodies for GM-HR
