IIITD Project Engineer and Estate Officer Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIITD), a state university set up under the IIIT-Delhi Act 2007 of the Government of NCT of Delhi, wants a Project Engineer and Estate Officer for its FMS department under Advertisement No. 36/2026. This is the person who keeps the campus buildings, electrical systems, water lines, generators and gardens in shape, and who will also back the next phase of construction on the campus. The job is offered on a contract basis under the institute's Recruitment and Promotion Rules for Non-Teaching Staff 2024.

The role suits a senior civil or electrical engineer who has spent years on estimates, tenders, site supervision and building upkeep, whether in a government department, a PSU or a private firm. Experience in a private organisation is counted as equivalent experience, so you do not need a government background to apply. You will also act as the technical adviser to the Director and Registrar, so the post carries real responsibility for how the campus grows.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract tenure: The appointment is contractual, at first for five years or the period the Selection Committee recommends, and can be extended as per institute norms.
• Pay flexibility: Deserving candidates may be offered a higher starting salary, extra increments or pay protection.
• Placement: The selected person can be placed in any administrative department or division of the institute.
• Shortlisting: A Screening Committee checks every application and may apply higher eligibility or experience cut-offs if many people apply.
• Past experience: Earlier service may be counted towards qualifying service if the Screening Committee recommends it.
• Government employees: If you work in a government body, autonomous body or PSU, you must produce a No Objection Certificate and, where needed, vigilance clearance through proper channel.
• Internal candidates: Tell the HR division and your Head of Division before applying; an NOC will not be issued later without that prior intimation, and your candidature may be cancelled.
• Grade points: If your university has no rule for turning CGPA into a percentage, the institute converts it on a 10-point scale.
• False information: Any wrong detail found at any stage leads to disqualification or termination without notice.

• Prepare estimates for civil, electrical, mechanical and sanitary works planned or taken up by the institute
• Supervise civil, electrical and gardening works and make sure they meet the set norms and standards
