RGNAU Professional Trainee Recruitment 2026: Overview

Rajiv Gandhi National Aviation University (RGNAU), a Central University created by an Act of Parliament in 2013, is taking on Professional Trainees in three fields: Management, Electrical or Civil Engineering, and Pharmacy. The university is based at Fursatganj in Amethi district, Uttar Pradesh, and it focuses on teaching and research for India's aviation sector.

This is a stipend-based training engagement, not a regular university job. You train for a year first, with a chance of one more year. The drive suits early-career graduates who want hands-on experience inside a central university. Only Indian nationals can apply.

Posts and Disciplines

• Management: the biggest group in this drive. The university wants trainees who can write policy notes, briefing papers, presentations and analytical reports for senior government officials, so research and report-writing skills count.
• Electrical Engineering / Civil Engineering: a combined position open to either branch, with a diploma or a degree. Electrical candidates who know estimation and costing (BOQ, rate analysis, cable sizing, CPWD/DSR rates) stand out. Civil candidates gain an edge with AutoCAD, STAAD, Primavera or MS Project, or a course in construction or project management.
• Pharmacy: for D.Pharm or B.Pharm holders with a valid pharmacist registration with the Central or a State Pharmacy Council. Comfort with MS Office, digital inventory logging and basic emergency first aid helps.

The university says the number of positions is tentative and may go up or down at the time of selection. Each trainee works in their own field as the university assigns.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Duration: One year at first, which may be extended by one more year at most. Two years is the ceiling.
• Working days: You train six days a week.
• Leave: You earn one day of leave for each completed month of training.
• Location: Training happens at Fursatganj, Amethi, or anywhere else the university needs you.
• Discipline: Any indiscipline or irregularity can end your training early, without notice or a reason being given.
• No permanent job: Trainees have no claim to absorption, regularisation or seniority at the university.
• Confidentiality: You cannot share project data or information with anyone outside, even after you leave. All reports and data belong to the university.
• Other work: You cannot take up any business or professional activity that clashes with your assigned work.
• Who cannot apply: Anyone convicted by a court or facing criminal proceedings, and anyone holding a degree from an institution the UGC has declared fake.
• Travel costs: No TA or DA is paid for the test or interview.
• Disputes: Any legal dispute falls under courts in Lucknow.

You apply online on the university's Samarth portal (rgnaunt.samarth.edu.in). After you submit, keep a hard copy of the form along with copies of your certificates and testimonials, since you must hand them in at the interview if you are shortlisted.
