About This Job

National Testing Agency (NTA) is hiring 1 Chief Finance Officer (CFO) on contract basis at its New Delhi Head Office. If you are a CA, CMA, MBA (Finance) or Master's in Commerce/Finance with 15+ years of experience, you can apply. National Testing Agency (NTA) Chief Finance Officer Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The National Testing Agency (NTA), an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has released a notification for engagement of one Chief Finance Officer on contract basis. NTA handles huge financial flows every year from exam fees of crores of candidates appearing in JEE (Main), NEET, UGC-NET, CUET, CMAT and GPAT. The contract is for 3 years, extendable based on performance. The CFO will lead NTA's finance, accounts, budgeting, treasury and statutory compliance functions.

Who Can Apply?

Essential Qualifications (any one)

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI)
  • Cost & Management Accountant (CMA) from the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI)
  • MBA (Finance) / PG Diploma in Management with Finance specialisation from a reputed institution
  • Master's degree in Commerce/Economics/Finance from a recognised university

Experience Required

  • Minimum 15 years of post-qualification experience in Finance, Accounts, Audit and Treasury
  • At least 5 years at CXO / CFO / Finance Controller / Head of Finance level in a large organisation
  • Demonstrated experience of leading finance for an organisation with significant turnover/budget and high-volume transactions
  • Consistently good academic record

Desirable Experience

  • Working knowledge of GFR 2017, DFPR, Government Accounting Standards and GFR-based procurement
  • Familiarity with GeM, PFMS, e-billing and Government treasury systems
  • Experience managing C&AG audit, internal audit, statutory audit and PAC matters
  • Exposure to treasury management and surplus fund deployment per DEA/MoF guidelines
  • Experience with ERP systems (Tally Prime, SAP, Oracle Financials) and cost-centre accounting
  • Working experience with Government of India, State Governments, PSUs or autonomous bodies

Age Limit

  • Preferably below 55 years as on the last date of application

Salary

  • You will get a consolidated monthly remuneration, commensurate with your qualifications, experience and industry benchmarks
  • The remuneration package will be competitive and negotiable for exceptional candidates
  • The exact amount will be decided by the competent authority
  • Engagement is purely contractual - no right for regular appointment or absorption in NTA

Selection Process

The selection will be done in 2 stages:

  1. Shortlisting: Based on your qualifications, experience and suitability for the position. NTA reserves the right to fix criteria and limit the number of candidates called for interview.
  2. Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview before a Selection Committee constituted by the competent authority.

The decision of the Selection Committee will be final and binding.

Responsibilities

  • Lead financial strategy, multi-year financial planning and budgeting for NTA aligned to the examination calendar
  • Own end-to-end accounting operations including general ledger, payables, receivables and bank reconciliation
  • Manage NTA's treasury operations, fee collection, fund transfers and surplus fund investment per DEA/MoF guidelines
  • Ensure full compliance with Income Tax (TDS, Section 10(23C)/12A/11), GST, EPF, ESIC and Gratuity provisions
  • Coordinate end-to-end with the C&AG for annual statutory audit and respond to audit memos and paras
  • Prepare annual financial statements, receipts and payments accounts, and balance sheet for autonomous bodies
  • Institutionalise examination-wise accounting framework tracking revenue, costs and surplus for JEE/NEET/CUET/UGC-NET
  • Lead implementation of integrated ERP system covering accounting, budgeting, procurement-finance, treasury and MIS

Minimum Qualification

CA (ICAI) OR CMA (ICMAI) OR MBA Finance / PG Diploma in Management with Finance specialisation OR Master's degree in Commerce/Economics/Finance

Preferred Qualification
