NIT Silchar JRF Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The National Institute of Technology Silchar (NIT Silchar), an Institute of National Importance in Assam, has released Advertisement No. NITS/Dean(R&C)/ECE/695/02/2026 for one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position. The post is under a research project funded by the Science & Technology and Biotechnology Department, Government of West Bengal (WB-DSTBT), in joint collaboration with Nephrocare India Pvt. Ltd. and NIT Silchar.

The project is titled "Design and development of low-cost hemodialysis machine with remote monitoring facility". In simple words, you will help build an affordable, AI-based dialysis machine that doctors can watch and control from a distance — real work that can help patients with kidney problems. The project is led by Dr. Pratim Sengupta (Nephrocare) along with Co-Investigators Dr. Koushik Guha, Dr. Sukumar Pati and Dr. Partha Pakray from NIT Silchar.

This is a strong opportunity to work at the crossroads of electronics, healthcare and artificial intelligence, with both an industry partner and a top engineering institute. You get hands-on research experience that can also count towards a Ph.D. later. The post is purely temporary — it is for one year at first and can be extended by another year based on your performance and the project's needs.
