ACTREC Counselor Recruitment 2026: Overview

Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), a grant-in-aid institution of the Department of Atomic Energy, is hiring Counselors for a project run by its Centre for Cancer Epidemiology (CCE) at the Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC) in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai. The project receives telephone calls from Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa, so a big part of the job is talking to callers in the language they are comfortable with. This is a project-based walk-in engagement, not a permanent TMC post. If you hold a degree in psychology or social work and speak more than one regional language, this role suits you.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Language: You must be fluent in Hindi and English, plus at least one of Marathi, Konkani or Gujarati. The project handles callers from those three states.
• Computer skills: Knowledge of basic computer applications is essential, not optional.
• Pay depends on your degree: Graduates and postgraduates are paid at two different fixed monthly rates; both figures appear in the salary details on this page.
• Preferred profile: A postgraduate degree in Psychology or a Master's in Social Work with medical and psychiatric social work specialisation is desirable. Earlier work in tobacco control gives you preference.
• Tenure: The engagement runs for six months at first, or until the project continues, whichever is earlier.
• Work location: You will be based at the Centre for Cancer Epidemiology, ACTREC, Sector 22, Kharghar, Navi Mumbai.
