ACTREC Ad-hoc Consultant Pathology Recruitment 2026: Overview

Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC), the Kharghar campus of the Tata Memorial Centre, is looking for an Ad-hoc Consultant (Pathology) for its Department of Pathology. ACTREC is a grant-in-aid institute of the Department of Atomic Energy, and the job is based at its cancer centre in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai.

Selection happens through a single-day walk-in interview — there is no online form and no written test. This is an ad-hoc engagement on a consolidated monthly package, not a regular faculty post. It suits pathologists who already have a few years of teaching-hospital work and want hands-on exposure to cancer diagnostics at a specialist centre.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The engagement starts for six months and can be extended as per the requirement of the Centre.
• Ad-hoc basis: The post is filled on an ad-hoc footing, so you should not treat it as a permanent appointment.
• Pay depends on experience: Where you land within the consolidated band is decided by your work experience, so carry proof of every post you have held.
• Experience must be post-PG: Only work in Pathology at a teaching hospital after your M.D. or D.N.B. counts towards the minimum experience.
• Recognised degree: An equivalent postgraduate degree in Pathology must be recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
• Age reference: Your age is counted as on the date of the advertisement, not the interview day.
