TMC Anaesthesiology Senior and Junior Resident Recruitment 2026: Overview

Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), a grant-in-aid institution under the Department of Atomic Energy, is hiring Senior Residents and Junior Residents in Anaesthesiology for its Varanasi unit: Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital (HBCH) and Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya Cancer Centre (MPMMCC). These are tenure-based residency posts for a fixed period of up to one year, which the centre can extend if it still needs you.

Posts and Disciplines

• Senior Resident (Anaesthesiology): meant for doctors with an MD or DNB in Anaesthesiology. Your level, Senior Resident I, II or III, depends on how much experience you have after your postgraduate degree.
• Junior Resident (Anaesthesiology): meant for doctors with a Diploma in Anaesthesiology; the notice engages them at the Junior Resident III level.
• Department and place: both posts sit in the Department of Anaesthesiology at HBCH/MPMMCC, Varanasi.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: Fixed period of up to one year, extended only if the centre needs it.
• NMC recognition: All your degrees (undergraduate, postgraduate and super-speciality) must be recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
• State registration: If you are selected, you must register with the Uttar Pradesh Medical Council.
• NOC for government staff: If you work for a Central, State, autonomous or semi-government body, upload a No Objection Certificate issued through your Head of Institution. Bring the original to the MCQ test or interview; without it you will not be allowed to appear.
• Security deposit: The notice fixes a security/caution deposit for each level, equal to that level's monthly pay.
• Result awaited: You can apply before your result is out, but you must show proof of passing at the MCQ test or interview.
• Shortlisting: TMC may set cut-offs and limit how many candidates it calls; meeting the minimum eligibility does not guarantee a call.
• Travel: No TA/DA is paid for attending the MCQ test or interview.
• Jurisdiction: Any dispute about this recruitment falls under the courts of Varanasi.
