ESIC Pune Faculty and Senior Resident Recruitment 2026: Overview

Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, is holding walk-in interviews at ESIC Medical College and Hospital, Bibvewadi, Pune for teaching faculty, Senior Resident, Medical Officer and Ayurvedic Physician posts on a contract basis. Advertisement No. 11 of 2026 follows the hospital's earlier Advertisements 07, 08, 09 and 10 of 2026 — it covers posts left unfilled in those rounds plus vacancies that have come up since.

If you are a specialist doctor looking for a teaching role, a postgraduate wanting a senior residency at a medical college, or an Ayurveda graduate, this round has something for you. The Medical Officer post is not at the Pune campus but at the ESIC dispensary-cum-branch office (DCBO) in Gondia.

Posts and Disciplines

• Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor: teaching posts across Forensic Medicine, Psychiatry, General Medicine, Radiology, Respiratory Medicine, Anaesthesiology, Blood Bank, Orthopaedics, Surgery, Accident and Emergency, Nephrology, Medical Oncology and ICU/Critical Care. Not every rank is open in every department — check the table in the advertisement for your speciality.
• Senior Resident (3 Years): residency posts in General Medicine, Paediatrics, Anaesthesiology, Surgery, Nephrology, Medical Oncology and ICU/Critical Care.
• Senior Resident (1 Year): short residency posts in General Medicine, Anaesthesiology and Surgery.
• Medical Officer (DCBO): a contract doctor post at the ESIC dispensary-cum-branch office in Gondia, Maharashtra, reserved for ST candidates.
• Part Time Ayurvedic Physician: an unreserved post for Ayurveda graduates, working 5 hours a day, 6 days a week, with no other allowances.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: one year at first. Faculty and 3-year Senior Resident contracts can be extended up to three years on good performance, until a regular officer joins, or until you turn 70 — whichever comes first. Senior Resident (1 Year), Medical Officer and Ayurvedic Physician posts last one year only.
• Notice period: either side can end the contract with one month's notice. If you resign on the spot, you must deposit one month's salary to the ESI account.
• Security deposit: you hand in a Rs. 20,000 demand draft in favour of "ESI Fund A/c No. 1", payable at Pune, when you join. It is refunded without interest after you finish the term, but forfeited if you leave without notice or for misconduct.
• Contract agreement: selected doctors sign the contract on a Rs. 500 stamp paper bought at their own cost.
• No private practice: faculty, Senior Residents and Medical Officers on contract cannot do private practice.
• Bonded service: Senior Resident service at ESIC counts as bonded service in Maharashtra under the State Government decision of 31 January 2014.
• Completed residents: if you have already finished three years as a Senior Resident under the Central Residency Scheme, you cannot take a 3-year Senior Resident post here.
• No service benefits: no PF, pension, gratuity, seniority, promotion or regularisation, and ESIC does not provide accommodation.
• Attendance: 15 days' absence without permission counts as abandoning the job. Faculty mark attendance both manually and on the Aadhaar-based biometric system (AEBAS).
• Joining: you must join within 7 days of the offer; if you do not, the post may go to the next person on the waiting list.
• PwBD and reservation: PwBD candidates are adjusted against their own category vacancies, and unfilled PwBD reservation is carried forward. Without a valid category certificate you are treated as Unreserved.

Application Submission Notes

There is no online form. Report at the Office of the Dean/Medical Superintendent, ESIC Medical College and Hospital, Bibvewadi, Pune between 9:00 and 10:30 AM on your department's interview day. Latecomers are not allowed.

• Faculty and Senior Resident candidates fill Annexure-A; Medical Officer (DCBO) and Ayurvedic Physician candidates fill Annexure-B.
• Pay the fee by demand draft in favour of "ESI Fund A/c No. 1", payable at Pune.
• You can apply for only one post at a time, except in Emergency Medicine and ICU, with a separate form for each.
• Government employees must bring a No Objection Certificate to the interview.

Corrigenda and Notices

• Monthly rolling interviews: if posts stay vacant or new ones arise after this drive, ESIC Pune will interview on the first Monday of every month (the next Tuesday if that Monday is a gazetted holiday) until 31 March 2027. These updates appear only on the ESIC websites, not in newspapers.
• Results: published on mcbibvewadi.esic.gov.in and the ESIC recruitments page.
