The Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), under the Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India, has invited applications for 5 Part Time Specialist posts at ESIC Hospital, Tinsukia, Assam. The vacancies span five different departments — Anesthesiology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Medicine, Surgery, and Dental. Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: MBBS with a PG Degree or equivalent, or a PG Diploma in the concerned specialty, from a recognized university.
• Registration: You must be registered with the Medical Council of India (MCI) or a State Medical Council, with MD/MS/DNB qualification.
• Experience: If you hold a PG Degree, you need 3 years of experience in the relevant specialty after your PG. If you hold a PG Diploma, you need 5 years of experience after your PG.
• Duty Hours: You will work 4 hours a day for 4 days a week (minimum 16 hours a week).
• Tenure: The contract runs for one year from your date of joining, or until a regular incumbent joins — whichever comes first.

Age Limit

• Your age should not exceed 69 years as on the date of interview.
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST/OBC and other categories get relaxation as per Central Government rules. No age relaxation is available to SC/ST/OBC candidates applying against unreserved (UR) vacancies.

Salary

• You will get a consolidated pay of Rs. 60,000 per month as a Part Time Specialist.
• If you are willing to attend emergency visits, you get an extra Rs. 15,000 per emergency visit.
• For every additional hour of work beyond 16 hours a week, you get Rs. 800 per hour (subject to justification by the Medical Superintendent).

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

ESIC will select you through a walk-in interview. There are 3 stages:

1. Walk-in Interview: Appear before the Selection Board with your original documents and one self-attested photocopy of each. The interview date depends on your specialty and will be communicated to you after ESIC receives your application.
2. Document Verification: Your age proof, MBBS certificate, PG Degree/Diploma certificate, MCI/SMC registration, caste/EWS certificate (if applicable), and experience certificate (if applicable) will be checked.
3. Medical Fitness: Your selection is subject to you proving your medical fitness.

If you are currently employed, you must bring a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your employer — this applies to doctors under bond as well, and you will not be allowed to appear for the interview without it. On selection, you also need to submit a security deposit of Rs. 30,000 (refundable) and a professional indemnity insurance policy — the minimum cover required is Rs. 30 lakhs for Anaesthesiologists/Cardiac/Neuro/Plastic Surgeons, Rs. 20 lakhs for General Surgeons/Gynaecologists/Obstetricians, and Rs. 10 lakhs for Physicians/Dentists/Radiologists/Pathologists/Pulmonologists.

Note: These posts are purely contractual with no claim to regularisation, and either side can end the contract with one month's notice. Private practice of any kind is not permitted during your engagement, no hostel accommodation or quarters will be provided, and no TA/DA is paid for attending the interview. If you resign or your contract is terminated within 9 months of joining, your Rs. 30,000 security deposit will be forfeited.
