RGNIYD Training Associate Recruitment 2026: Overview

Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD), Sriperumbudur, is an Institution of National Importance set up by Act of Parliament No. 35/2012 under the Department of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. It is hiring Training Associates, Junior Assistants, a Part Time Medical Officer (Female) and a Consultant (Finance and Administration) on a purely temporary, contract basis for its headquarters in Tamil Nadu and its Regional Centre at Chandigarh.

The biggest point to note: there is no online form. You simply walk in on your post's interview day with the filled application form and your documents. Social science postgraduates with training experience, graduates who have worked in central education offices, women doctors, and retired government officers with administration and accounts background will all find a post here.

Posts and Disciplines

Training Associate candidates with a specialisation in Youth Development get preference. The Medical Officer post is open only to women doctors.

Post-wise Duties

Training Associate

You will run national-level training programmes, prepare training proposals with budgets and write detailed training reports. Expect to travel to centres across the country and to serve at regional centres when needed.

Junior Assistant

The notice asks for experience in administration, academic or examination sections of central education institutions, so expect office work on the e-Office system, MS Word and MS Excel, applying central government rules and UGC norms.

Part Time Medical Officer (Female)

You will visit the Sriperumbudur campus on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday evenings between 4 PM and 6 PM.

Consultant (Finance and Administration)

You will look after general administration, finance and accounts, legal matters and establishment work at the Chandigarh Regional Centre.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: the engagement starts for 11 months and may be extended on good performance; extension is not automatic.
• Junior Assistant MoA link: this contract ends automatically when the institute's Memorandum of Agreement with CAES expires, is revoked or ends early.
• No permanent claim: a contract here gives you no right to regular employment at RGNIYD.
• Other work: you cannot take up any secondary job, including online paid work, without the institute's approval.
• Vacancies are tentative: the number of posts can go up or down as the institute needs.
• Age reference dates: the notice prints 23 March 2023 for the Medical Officer and 12 August 2025 for the Consultant as the age reference dates; keep an eye on the RGNIYD website for any correction.
• Travel: no TA/DA and no accommodation for the walk-in; requests for online interviews or a change of venue are refused.
• Jurisdiction: disputes go to courts with jurisdiction over Chennai.

Download the prescribed application form from rgniyd.gov.in, fill it in, and bring it with your originals, one set of self-attested copies and two passport photos. Registration and certificate verification run from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM, and interviews start at 10:30 AM — registration may close after the reporting time.

The Chandigarh walk-ins come about ten days before the Sriperumbudur ones, so check your post's interview day carefully.
