IISER TVM Adhoc Faculty Humanities Recruitment 2026

IISER TVM Adhoc Faculty Humanities Recruitment 2026: Overview

The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Thiruvananthapuram (IISER TVM) is looking for ad hoc faculty to teach its humanities courses. IISER TVM is an autonomous institute set up by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, and it focuses on science research and science education through its five-year BS-MS, M.Sc., Integrated Ph.D. and Ph.D. programmes.

This is an ad hoc teaching engagement, not a regular faculty post. The best part of this call is that teachers who have retired from academic service can also apply, so it suits both early-career PhD holders and senior academics who still want to teach.

Posts and Disciplines

The institute wants a Ph.D. in one of these humanities and social science areas:

• Economics
• History of Science
• English Language and Literature
• Development Studies
• Philosophy
• Closely related fields: if your doctorate is in a neighbouring area, you can still apply.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Ad hoc basis: You are engaged to teach courses, not appointed to a permanent faculty position.
• Pay depends on experience: Your monthly pay is fixed within the advertised band based on your experience.
• Teaching experience: Experience at university or college level (or equivalent) is desirable but not compulsory.
• Retired teachers welcome: Teachers retired from academic service are eligible for appointment, within the institute's upper age limit.

Application Submission Notes

You apply in two parts. First, register through the institute's Google Form registration link. Second, download the application form from the IISER TVM website, fill it in and send it along with your registration, uploading your supporting documents.

The registration closes at 11:59 PM on the last day. Only shortlisted candidates are called for the interview, and if you cannot travel to Thiruvananthapuram, you can ask to attend the interview online. For questions, write to dofa.secy@iisertvm.ac.in.
