IISER TVM Project Scientist-1 Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Thiruvananthapuram (IISER TVM) is hiring a Project Scientist-1 for an externally funded research project at its Vithura campus. The project focuses on AI-based smart sensors for rapid, real-time detection of ppm-level hydrogen leaks in storage and distribution structures. This is a project contract, with the appointment tied to the research rather than a regular institute position.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The initial appointment is for 1 year. It may be extended by 0.5 year if your performance is satisfactory.
• Project closure: Your appointment ends automatically when the research project closes. The notice provides for this without further notice or compensation.
• Appointment terms: The funding agency sets the terms for the project and the post. These conditions govern your appointment throughout the engagement.
• No absorption claim: This appointment does not give you a right to a job with IISER TVM or the funding agency. That restriction applies both during the project and after it ends.
• Travel costs: The institute will not pay travel or daily allowances for attending the interview. You will need to arrange your own travel.
• Joining: If selected, you are expected to join as soon as possible after receiving the offer letter. Keep this expectation in mind when considering the engagement.
