Selection Process

Responsibilities

  • Represent the State Government in criminal cases before the Sessions Court and other courts
  • Prepare and present arguments on behalf of the prosecution in criminal trials
  • Review police charge sheets and advise on the legal strength of cases before trial
  • Examine witnesses and cross-examine defence witnesses during court proceedings
  • Draft legal opinions, appeals, and written submissions for the prosecution side
  • Coordinate with police officers and investigating agencies on case preparation
  • Ensure timely filing of cases, appeals, and other court documents
  • Stay updated with changes in criminal law, Supreme Court and High Court judgments

Degree in Law with 8 years of Advocate experience

Required Skills

Proficiency in criminal law, advocacy experience in High Court or subordinate courts, knowledge of Marathi

Exam Pattern

The selection for Additional Public Prosecutor (Group-A) involves a multi-stage examination process conducted by MPSC.
