MPSC Group C Recruitment 2026 — 2619 Vacancies

Corrigendum Update: MPSC has extended the last date to apply for this recruitment to 31 July 2026 (fee payment accepted till 3 August 2026), and candidates who already applied must complete a district-centre selection step on the MPSC portal between 19 and 31 July 2026. A separate corrigendum also reverted the Preliminary Exam from Computer-Based Test (CBT) back to the traditional OMR-based (offline) mode, to be held at 37 district centres across Maharashtra.

MPSC is hiring for 2,619 Group C posts in the Maharashtra government through its Combined Preliminary Examination 2026. If you are a graduate in any stream and know Marathi, you can apply online. Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) Group C Recruitment 2026 - 2619 Posts

The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) has released Advertisement No. 017/2026 for the Maharashtra Group C Services Combined Preliminary Examination 2026. A total of 2,619 vacancies are open across five cadres in various departments of the Government of Maharashtra. Clerk-Typist alone has 1,864 posts — the biggest chunk of this drive. This is a single common exam that lets you compete for multiple Group C posts at once, so it is a strong opportunity for graduates across Maharashtra. Two corrigenda have since been issued: one (16-07-2026) changing the exam mode from CBT to offline OMR at 37 centres, and a second (22-07-2026) revising post details and extending the application window.

Who Can Apply?

• Clerk-Typist, Tax Assistant, Technical Assistant: Bachelor's degree (graduation) in any stream from a recognized university.
• Industry Inspector: Bachelor's degree in Science, or a 3-year Diploma in Engineering.
• Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector (AMVI): A 3-year Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering.
• Language: Knowledge of Marathi is mandatory for all posts.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 38 years old as on 01 October 2026 (the minimum age is 19 years for Clerk-Typist and AMVI).
• Age Relaxation: SC / ST / OBC / EWS / Orphan candidates get up to 43 years. Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) can apply up to 45 years. Ex-Servicemen get relaxation as per rules.

Salary

• Clerk-Typist: Pay Level S-6, Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200 per month.
• Tax Assistant: Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100 per month.
• Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector: Pay Level S-14, Rs. 36,600 to Rs. 1,15,600 per month.
• You will also get DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as per Maharashtra Government rules.

Application Fee

• General / Open: Rs. 394
• SC / ST / OBC / EWS / PwBD / Orphan: Rs. 294
• Ex-Servicemen: Rs. 44

These are the Preliminary Examination fees. An additional fee applies for the Main Examination. Fee payment for already-registered candidates is now accepted till 3 August 2026.

Selection Process

The selection is done in stages with no interview:

1. Preliminary Examination: Following the 16-07-2026 corrigendum, this will now be a traditional OMR-based (offline) test of 100 marks, held at 37 district centres across Maharashtra (previously planned as a Computer-Based Test).
2. Main Examination: Post-wise main exam of 400 marks (300 marks for AMVI).
3. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates get their documents checked.

There is no interview for these Group C posts.

How to Apply

2. Register yourself (One Time Registration) and log in.
3. Fill in the online application form for the Group C Combined Preliminary Examination.
4. Upload your photo and documents.
5. Pay the fee online and submit before the extended deadline of 31 July 2026 (fee payment accepted till 3 August 2026).
6. Already-applied candidates must complete the district-centre selection step on the MPSC portal between 19 and 31 July 2026.
7. Take a printout of the submitted form for your records.
