MPSC is hiring for 1884 Group C posts across Maharashtra government departments. This is the Main Examination stage, so you can apply only if you cleared the Group-C Combined Preliminary Exam 2025 (held on 11 January 2026, result out 4 May 2026). You need a graduation degree in any stream. The last date to apply online is 4 June 2026, and the Main Exam is on 12 July 2026.

The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) has released Advertisement No. 014/2026 for the Maharashtra Group-C Services Main Examination. A total of 1884 posts are open across five different roles in departments like Industry, Finance and Home. Only candidates who qualified the Group-C Preliminary Exam 2025 can apply for this Main Exam. The biggest opening is for Clerk-Typist, with more than 1,600 posts.

Who Can Apply?
Educational Qualification
- You must have a Bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognised university.
- You must know the Marathi language.
- You must be an Indian citizen.
Most Important Condition
- You must have qualified the Group-C Combined Preliminary Examination 2025. Only prelim-qualified candidates can fill this Main Exam form.
Typing Requirement
- A typewriting (typing) qualification is required for the Kar Sahayak and Lipik-Tanklekhak posts.
Age Limit
- You should be between 19 and 38 years old.
- Age Relaxation: Up to 43 years for OBC and other backward categories, and up to 45 years for candidates with disabilities (Divyang). Ex-Servicemen and other reserved groups get relaxation as per Maharashtra Government rules.
Salary
- You will get a salary as per the 7th Pay Commission and Maharashtra Government pay rules for the post you are appointed to.
- The pay differs by post (Clerk-Typist, Excise Sub-Inspector, Tax Assistant, Industry Inspector, Technical Assistant).
- You also get DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as per state government rules.

- OBC / Reserved categories / Orphan / Divyang (PwBD): Rs. 344 (plus bank charges)

Selection Process
Selection is based on the Main Examination and document verification:
- Main Written Examination: Two papers carrying a total of 400 marks. The exam is objective (MCQ) type.
- Document Verification: Candidates shortlisted on the merit list have their documents and certificates checked.
- Final Selection: For Lipik-Tanklekhak, the final list is prepared from the merit list plus your Appointing Authority-wise preference order.

Responsibilities
- Handle clerical, typing and record-keeping work for Lipik-Tanklekhak posts in government offices
- Inspect industrial units and check compliance with labour and safety rules for Udyog Nirikshak posts
- Carry out tax assessment and assist with revenue collection for Kar Sahayak posts
- Support technical work and field inspections for Tantrik Sahayak posts
- Conduct excise checks, raids and enforcement duties for Duyyam Nirikshak (State Excise) posts
- Prepare reports, maintain registers and update government software systems
- Follow department rules and assist senior officers with daily administrative work

Bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognised university with knowledge of Marathi; must have qualified the MPSC Group-C Combined Preliminary Examination 2025
