Who Can Apply?
For All Three Posts (ASO, STI, PSI)
- Qualification: You must hold a Degree from a Statutory University or equivalent qualification recognised by the Government.
- Language: Knowledge of Marathi language is required for all posts.
Additional Requirements for Police Sub-Inspector (PSI)
- Physical Standards (Male): Minimum height 165 cm; Chest minimum 79 cm (unexpanded) with at least 5 cm expansion.
- Physical Standards (Female): Minimum height 150 cm.
Age Limit
- ASO and STI: You should be between 18 and 38 years (General/Open category) as on 01 January 2026.
- Police Sub-Inspector (PSI): You should be between 19 and 31 years (General/Open category) as on 01 January 2026.
- Age Relaxation: Reserved category (SC/ST/OBC/VJNT/SBC) candidates get relaxation up to 43 years for ASO/STI and up to 34 years for PSI as per Maharashtra Government rules.

Selection Process
The selection will be done through the following stages:
- Combined Preliminary Examination (Samyukt Purva Pariksha): A common exam for all three posts — 100 questions, 100 marks, 1 hour. Objective type (MCQ). Negative marking of 0.25 marks per wrong answer. Exam date: 14 June 2026. This is only a screening test — marks are not counted in the final merit.
- Main Examination (Mukhya Pariksha): Candidates shortlisted from the preliminary exam appear for a separate mains for each post (ASO/STI/PSI). The mains carries 400 marks. Paper pattern is different for each post.
- Physical Test (PSI only): A physical endurance test worth 100 marks. You must score a minimum of 60 out of 100 to qualify. Candidates who score below 60 are not eligible for further selection.
- Interview (PSI only): Final stage for Police Sub-Inspector candidates based on combined mains and physical test marks.
Final Merit: For ASO and STI — based on Mains marks only. For PSI — based on Mains marks + Physical Test marks.
