MPSC has released the notification for 296 Civil Engineering Services posts under the Maharashtra Civil Engineering Services Main Examination 2025 (Advt. No. 003/2026). Candidates who hold a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering can apply online. The last date to apply is 30 March 2026. These are Group A and Group B level posts with salary starting from Rs. 38,600 per month going up to Rs. 1,77,500 per month.
Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) Civil Engineering Services Recruitment 2026 - 296 Posts
Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) has announced a major recruitment drive for 296 posts under the Maharashtra Civil Engineering Services cadre. These positions span across Group A (Gazetted) and Group B (Non-Gazetted) categories within state government departments, primarily the Public Works Department and related engineering divisions across Maharashtra. This is one of the largest engineering service recruitments by MPSC in recent times. Who Can Apply?
- Qualification: You need a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (B.E. / B.Tech) from a university recognised by the Maharashtra Government or an equivalent qualification.
- Domicile: You should be a domicile of Maharashtra or meet the domicile requirements specified by MPSC.
- Nationality: You must be an Indian citizen.

Age Limit
- You should be between 19 and 43 years old.
- General (Open) Category: Maximum 38 years
- Reserved Categories (SC/ST/OBC/EWS): Maximum 43 years (5 years relaxation)

Salary
- Group A Posts (Gazetted): Pay Level 10 — Basic pay starts at Rs. 56,100 per month, going up to Rs. 1,77,500 per month
- Group B Posts (Non-Gazetted): Pay Level 7-9 — Basic pay starts at Rs. 38,600 per month, going up to Rs. 1,22,800 per month
- You will also receive Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Travel Allowance (TA), and other benefits as per Maharashtra Government rules
- HRA rates: 24% in Mumbai/Pune, 16% in other cities, 8% in rural areas

Selection Process
The selection will be done in 3 stages:
- Preliminary Examination (Qualifying): An objective-type screening test with 100 multiple-choice questions carrying 100 marks. You will get 90 minutes to complete it. This exam covers General English, Marathi, General Studies, and General Aptitude. Negative marking of 1/4 mark applies for each wrong answer. This stage is qualifying in nature — marks are not counted in the final merit.
- Main Examination (Technical): Two descriptive technical papers on Civil Engineering subjects. Each paper has 100 questions worth 200 marks, with 2 hours duration per paper. Total marks for mains: 400. Negative marking of 1/4 mark per wrong answer applies.
- Interview / Personality Test: Candidates who qualify the mains exam will be called for an interview. The interview carries 275 marks and assesses your technical knowledge, communication skills, and personality.
Final Merit = Mains Examination Marks + Interview Marks

Responsibilities
- Plan, design, and supervise civil engineering projects including roads, bridges, dams, and public buildings across Maharashtra
- Prepare detailed project estimates, technical drawings, and tender documents for government construction works
- Monitor ongoing construction work to ensure quality standards, safety compliance, and timely project completion
- Inspect infrastructure for structural integrity and recommend repairs or maintenance schedules
- Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and prepare progress reports for senior officers
- Coordinate with contractors, architects, and other departments for smooth project execution
- Review and approve construction materials, methods, and designs as per government specifications
- Handle land acquisition matters, environmental clearances, and regulatory compliance for engineering projects

Exam Pattern

- Paper 2 (Technical Subject Paper 2): 100 questions for 200 marks — 2 hours
Total Mains Marks: 400 marks
Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer.
Interview / Personality Test
Candidates who clear the mains will be called for an interview carrying 275 marks. The interview tests your technical knowledge, communication skills, and overall personality.
Final Merit = Mains Marks (400) + Interview Marks (275) = Total 675 marks
