KGMU Tele MANAS Project Staff Recruitment 2026: Overview

King George's Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow, is hiring project staff for Tele MANAS, the national tele-mental-health programme run under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The Department of Psychiatry needs one person each for four roles — from a senior consultant psychiatrist to a data entry operator — to run the tele-counselling and case-management side of the programme. All four posts are on an 11-month contract, and selection is through a walk-in interview rather than a written exam. Candidates already working in government, PSU or autonomous bodies can also apply, with a No Objection Certificate.

Posts and Disciplines

Post-wise Duties

Assistant Professor / Senior Consultant

You will handle psychiatric consultations for callers referred through the Tele MANAS helpline, guide treatment plans, and mentor the junior clinical staff on the project.

Senior Resident / Consultant

You will conduct tele-consultations, assess patients referred through the helpline, and follow up on ongoing cases under the Assistant Professor's guidance.

Project Coordinator

You will keep the tele-consultation technology running, coordinate between the clinical team and the Ministry's Tele MANAS cell, and track the project's monthly progress.

Data Entry Operator

You will enter and update caller and case records in the Tele MANAS database, prepare basic data reports, and support the team's day-to-day documentation.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract: all four posts are purely on an 11-month contract basis; the notice does not mention any extension.
• One post per candidate: you can apply for only one of the four posts.
• NOC required: candidates already working in Central/State Government, PSU or Autonomous Bodies must submit a No Objection Certificate from their employer.
• No TA/DA: KGMU will not reimburse travel expenses for attending the interview.
• Eligibility cut-off: your age, qualification and experience are counted as on the date of the interview, not the application date.
