The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), a deemed university under the Department of Commerce, Government of India, wants senior industry professionals to join as Professor of Practice on contract. Posts are open at all four campuses: Delhi, Kolkata, Kakinada and GIFT City. The role is built for people who have led teams and businesses rather than for career academics. A formal academic degree is not essential, and you may be exempted from the publication record normally demanded of a Professor. • Pay: The consolidated monthly amount is all you get — no other allowance is paid.
• Number of posts: Not fixed; it follows the UGC Regulations on Professors of Practice.
• Citizenship: Only Indian citizens can apply.
• Police verification: Selected candidates may have to clear police verification before or after joining.
• Shortlisting: If many people apply, the committee may set benchmarks higher than the minimum, and IIFT contacts only shortlisted candidates.
