ARI Project Administrative Assistant Recruitment 2026: Overview

MACS-Agharkar Research Institute (ARI), Pune, an autonomous institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), is hiring Project Administrative Assistants on a short-term contract. ARI works on biological sciences across six areas, including biodiversity, bioenergy, genetics and plant breeding, and nanobioscience, and these posts support the office side of that research.

You will sit in the administration and accounts sections, handling project budgets, bills and Hindi work rather than lab research. Any graduate can apply, but candidates who know Tally, ERP or stores work and type fast in English have an edge. Selection happens at a walk-in interview at the Pune campus after you register online.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The engagement is for one year, and the institute may extend or cut it short after a review.
• Contract only: The post gives you no right to any regular post at ARI or at the funding agency.
• Notice period: Either side can end the contract with one month's notice; the Director may waive it, and you must clear your no-dues before you leave.
• Number of posts: The number of posts may change, and the institute can cancel the recruitment without giving a reason.
• Desirable skills: For exceptionally qualified candidates, the competent authority may relax the desirable qualifications.
• Travel: No TA or DA is paid for attending the interview.

On interview day, bring the printout of your online form, original certificates and one set of self-attested copies to Agharkar Research Institute, G.G. Agarkar Road, Pune 411004. The cover page mentions 10:30 a.m., but the detailed notice says you must report by 9:30 a.m. and no one is let in after that, so reach early.
