NIELIT Consultant (IT) Recruitment 2026: Overview

National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), an institute under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, is holding a walk-in interview to engage a Consultant (IT) at its Centre of Excellence in Chip Design, Noida. The engagement is purely contractual for one year, with an extension possible if your performance is good and the centre still needs the role.

This opening suits senior IT professionals with close to a decade of hands-on work. The pay is a single consolidated amount, and the centre may also use the interview to build a panel of Consultants for deployment in other government departments.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract term: One year on contract, extendable based on your performance and the centre's requirement. It gives you no claim to a regular post.
• Consolidated pay only: The monthly amount is the full cost to the company — no medical, HRA, transport or other benefits are paid on top.
• Empanelment: Shortlisted candidates may be kept in a NIELIT panel for one year and deployed on contract to a government department or NIELIT as needed. Being on the panel does not guarantee deployment.
• Recognised institutions: Your degree must come from a government or government-recognised university or institution. Candidates with a final-semester result pending or an incomplete degree cannot apply.
• Cut-off date: Age and experience are counted as on the walk-in interview date.
• Vacancy may change: The number of positions is tentative and can change as per the centre's requirement.
• No TA/DA: You will not get any travel allowance for attending the interview, and canvassing in any form leads to disqualification.
