King George's Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow has released notification (Ref. No. 15332/SR/JR/2026) for short-term recruitment of Senior Resident (Un-registered) and D/G Non-PG Junior Resident in the Department of Nephrology, through walk-in-interview. There is no written exam — selection is based on the walk-in interview held on 25 May 2026. Reservation rules apply only to candidates with Uttar Pradesh domicile.

Vacancy Details (Department of Nephrology)

Total 2 posts with the following category-wise breakdown:

• UR (Unreserved): 1 post
• OBC: 1 post
• SC, ST, EWS: No vacancy

The number of posts may increase or decrease at the time of interview. Seats may also vary as per DGME UP, Lucknow adjustment under compulsory Government Service Bond.

Who Can Apply?

For Senior Resident (Un-registered)

• You must have passed MD / MS / DNB recognised by MCI / NMC

For Non-PG Junior Resident

• You must have passed MBBS (including completion of Internship) or equivalent degree recognised by MCI
• You can apply only within 5 years from your internship completion date
• Maximum total service allowed is 36 months (with a maximum of 18 months in one department)
• State Medical Registration is mandatory before joining, if selected

Reserved category benefit applies only to candidates with Uttar Pradesh domicile. Candidates from other states will be treated as Unreserved.

Age Limit

• Senior Resident: Maximum age 45 years (as per NMC rules)
• Junior Resident (Non-Academic): Maximum age 40 years as on date of interview
• Age Relaxation: Up to 5 years for SC / ST / OBC candidates with UP domicile, and for widowed / divorced / legally separated women who have not re-married, and for disabled / handicapped persons (as per Government rules for Senior Resident posts only)

Salary

• Pay and allowances will be paid as per KGMU University rules
• No TA / DA will be given for attending the interview

• SC / ST: Rs. 2,000

Selection Process (Walk-in Interview Only)

Selection is purely through:

1. Walk-in Interview: 25 May 2026 at 02:00 PM
2. Document Verification: Originals required along with one set of self-attested Xerox copies at the time of interview

The Vice Chancellor reserves absolute discretion to cancel the advertisement in part or whole without assigning any reason. In case of selection, affidavits as per Annexure (1 to 3) on Rs. 10/- e-stamp paper are required at the time of joining.

5. Attend the walk-in interview on 25 May 2026 at 01:30 PM reporting time at the Committee Hall, Medical Superintendent Office, GM & AH, KGMU Lucknow.
6. Bring originals and one set of Xerox copies of all certificates for verification.

• Provide clinical care to inpatients and outpatients in the Department of Nephrology
• Manage patients with kidney disorders, dialysis cases, and renal transplant follow-ups
• Assist senior consultants in ward rounds, procedures, and emergency duties
• Maintain accurate patient records and case histories
• Participate in academic activities, case presentations, and journal clubs
• Perform on-call and night duties as per the department roster
• Follow KGMU rules, NMC guidelines, and hospital protocols
