The Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IIT Hyderabad) has invited applications for 1 Post-Doctoral Fellow under a time-bound sponsored project titled "Developing solutions to reduce human heat strain and extending safe exposure in extreme heat". The project is funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) and is led by Principal Investigator Dr. Ankush Kumar Jaiswal. This is a strong opportunity for researchers interested in thermal systems, heat transfer and human heat-stress analysis, based at the IIT Hyderabad campus in Kandi, Sangareddy, Telangana.

Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or Allied Areas.

Desirable Skills (Preferred)

  • Strong expertise in designing thermal systems and conducting experiments.
  • Proficiency in numerical simulation of thermal systems using ANSYS Fluent.
  • Good understanding of heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics and phase change phenomena.
  • Prior experience or interest in human thermal comfort and heat-stress analysis under extreme heat, along with experience in human thermal modelling, is an added advantage.

Salary

  • You will get a consolidated fellowship of Rs. 58,000 per month.
  • The position runs for 11 months and can be extended based on your performance.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in these steps:

  1. Shortlisting: The Principal Investigator will evaluate and shortlist the applications.
  2. Online Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an online interview. The interview date and time are informed by email.

Candidates with prior relevant experience will be given preference, and joining will be immediate after selection.
