ECIL, a Schedule 'A' Miniratna Category-I Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Department of Atomic Energy, has invited applications through the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) for the post of Director (Technical) (Advt. No. 79/2026, dated 16 July 2026). The Director (Technical) sits on ECIL's Board of Directors and heads Research & Development, Business Development and Production for the company's work in Nuclear, Defence, Aerospace, Homeland Security and e-Governance. This is a rare Board-level opening meant for experienced engineering leaders currently working in government, PSU or select private sector organisations, not a fresh-graduate hire. Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need an Engineering degree with a good academic record from a recognised university or institution. Candidates with a degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Telecommunications or Electrical Engineering will be preferred. An MBA or PG Diploma in Management is an added advantage.
• Experience: You need at least 5 years of cumulative Technical, Operational or Project Management experience in the last 10 years at a senior management level in a large, reputed organisation, working in Microwaves, Electronics, Instrumentation, Control or Automation.
• Employment status: You must currently be working in a regular capacity in a Central Public Sector Enterprise (including as a full-time functional Director), Central Government Group 'A' service (including the Armed Forces and All India Services), a State Public Sector Enterprise with an annual turnover of Rs. 2,000 crore or more, or a Private Company/Joint Venture/Federation with similar turnover.
• Vigilance clearance: Your application must be forwarded by your organisation's cadre-controlling authority along with a vigilance clearance profile, so you should be clear from any pending vigilance case.
• Undertaking: You must give an undertaking as part of your application that you will join the post if selected; applications without this undertaking will be rejected.

Age Limit

• The minimum age for applying is 45 years, and the age of superannuation for this post is 60 years.
• Internal candidates (from ECIL) need at least 2 years of residual service as on the date of occurrence of vacancy.
• External candidates from other organisations need at least 3 years of residual service as on the date of occurrence of vacancy.

Salary

• The selected Director (Technical) will get a pay of Rs. 1,80,000 to Rs. 3,40,000 per month under the IDA pay scale (Schedule A) applicable to Board-level executives.
• You will also get other allowances and perks applicable to Board-level CPSE executives as per Department of Public Enterprises (DPE) guidelines.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in the following stages:

1. Shortlisting: PESB reviews applications and shortlists candidates for interview based on qualification, experience and vigilance clearance status.
2. Document Verification: You need to submit annual reports of your current organisation, proof of turnover or listing status, and self-attested copies of documents supporting your age, qualification and experience.
3. Interview: The Board conducts a personal interview with shortlisted candidates before making the final selection.

If you are selected but later decline the offer after the interview or after receiving the offer of appointment, you can be debarred for two years from being considered for any other Board-level CPSE post, so apply only if you are genuinely willing to join.
