IIT Delhi Project Scientist Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has released Advertisement No. IITD/IRD/136/2026 for a Project Scientist appointment under the project Support to Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi for Enhancing India's Science Technology Policy Analysis Capabilities. The project is sponsored by R.O. Tata Trust, Mumbai and runs in the School of Public Policy. The role is research-heavy, with work on agricultural production footprints, productivity, crop diversification and economic welfare.

The appointment is contractual with consolidated pay. It can be renewed yearly or continue up to the project duration, whichever is earlier. The project duration shown in the notification is up to 28 February 2030.

• Research output: Ability to create publication-quality tables and research outputs will help in this role.

Salary

• Consolidated fellowship/pay range: Rs. 47,790 to Rs. 62,350 per month.
• HRA: 30% HRA is payable in addition to the monthly amount.
• The salary may progress through the notified slabs: Rs. 47,790, Rs. 49,220, Rs. 50,700, Rs. 52,220, Rs. 53,790, Rs. 55,400, Rs. 57,060, Rs. 58,770, Rs. 60,530 and Rs. 62,350.
• The appointment is contractual and renewable yearly or up to the project duration.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

IIT Delhi will select candidates through shortlisting and online interview. The notification does not mention any written exam.
