IIT Delhi Project Scientist Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi), through its Industrial Research & Development Unit, has invited applications for 1 Project Scientist position under the project titled "Seeding a National Framework for Coral Reef Stress and Community Vulnerability Assessment as a Precursor to a South Asia Regional Initiative." This is a contractual position under Advertisement No. IITD/IRD/081/2026, funded by the R.D. Tata Trust Grant. The project is based in the School of Public Policy under the guidance of Prof. Monika Makwana. Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need a PhD, M.Sc., or MA in climate adaptation, environmental sciences, marine sciences, development studies, or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum Marks: You must have scored at least 75% marks throughout your academic career (from Class 12th onwards).
• SC/ST Relaxation: 5% relaxation in marks is available for SC/ST candidates.

Salary

• You will get a consolidated salary starting from Rs. 47,790 per month, which can go up to Rs. 62,350 per month based on annual increments.
• The full pay slab is: Rs. 47,790 - 49,220 - 50,700 - 52,220 - 53,790 - 55,400 - 57,060 - 58,770 - 60,530 - 62,350 per month.
• The appointment is contractual, renewable yearly or up to the project duration (up to 05 February 2028), whichever is earlier.

Selection Process

Selection will be done through an online interview:
