Calicut University Technician Music Recruitment 2026

Calicut University Technician (Music) Recruitment 2026: Overview

The University of Calicut needs a Technician (Music) on a contract basis for its School of Drama and Fine Arts at the Dr. John Matthai Centre, Aranattukara, Thrissur. The post supports the music work of a drama school, which is why theatre and orchestration experience are on the wish list.

This is a re-notification: the post was advertised earlier in 2026, but no candidate turned up for the interview held on 3 September 2026, so the university has opened it again. If you are a music graduate or a Music Academy diploma holder with stage experience, this is a fresh chance to apply.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract post: The engagement is on contract with a consolidated monthly salary; the notice mentions no allowances on top.
• Recognised institute: Your minimum qualification must come from an institute recognised by the University of Calicut.
• What the panel looks for: A record of taking part in theatre activities and experience in orchestration are listed as desirable, so bring proof of both if you have it.
• Closing rule: The notice gives no fixed calendar date — online applications close 15 days from the date of the notification.
• Work location: The post is based at the university's Thrissur centre, not the main Calicut campus.

Application Submission Notes

You apply online on the university's career portal. Choose "Technician (Music) on contract" in the post list and upload a photo of 100 KB or less. The portal also has a Reprint option to download your filled form later. After the applications come in, the university's Recruitment Section will call candidates for the interview.
