IIT Delhi Non-Academic Recruitment 2026 - 11 Posts
Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi), located at Hauz Khas, New Delhi, has released two separate advertisements — Advt. No. E-II/01/2026(DR) for backlog vacancies and Advt. No. E-II/02/2026(DR) for Group A posts — for filling up 11 non-academic positions on direct recruitment basis. The posts span multiple departments including Estate & Works, Hospital, Security, Administration, Accounts, CSC (Core), and Office of Career Services. Who Can Apply?
Chief Security Officer (Level 12)
- Qualification: Commissioned Officer of Army/Navy/Air Force or Deputy SP/Assistant Commandant of Police/Security Force with Bachelor's degree (55% marks)
- Experience: 15 years relevant experience, of which at least 5 years in Pay Level 11 or 13 years in Pay Level 10
- OR Master's degree (55% marks) with 15 years experience including 7 years in supervisory capacity in Pay Level 11
- OR Bachelor's degree (55% marks) with 20 years experience including 7 years in supervisory capacity in Pay Level 11
- Must be able to ride motorcycle, motor car and handle firearms
Superintending Engineer (Level 13)
- Qualification: Master's in Engineering/Technology (55% marks) with 8 years in Grade Pay Rs 6,600 or higher as Executive Engineer
- OR Bachelor's in Engineering/Technology (55% marks) with 13 years in Group A including 9 years at GP 6,600 out of which 4 years as Executive Engineer
Medical Officer & Medical Officer (Psychiatry) (Level 10)
- Qualification: MBBS degree recognised under the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956
- Experience: Completion of compulsory rotatory internship plus at least 3 years of experience in a recognised hospital
- Desirable: M.D. or M.S. in relevant speciality; for Psychiatry post, specialisation in Psychiatry is preferred
Career Counsellor (Level 10)
- Qualification: Master's in Psychology/Social Work/relevant discipline (55% marks)
- Experience: 7 years of relevant experience including 5 years in psychometric testing, profiling, and full-time career counselling, preferably in an educational/career counselling centre
Assistant Executive Engineer (Civil) (Level 10)
- Qualification: Master's in Civil Engineering (55% marks) with 6 years at Assistant Engineer level in PB-2 with GP Rs 4,800
- OR Bachelor's/Diploma in Civil Engineering (55% marks) with 8-12 years relevant experience at equivalent levels
Junior Engineer (Electrical) (Level 6)
- Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (55% marks) plus 2 years relevant experience
Application Analyst (Level 6)
- Qualification: Master's in Science/Computer Science/Computer Applications or B.E./B.Tech (55% marks) with 3 years relevant experience in ERP development (Java) or web development (Laravel Framework)
Assistant Administrative Officer (Level 6)
- Qualification: Master's in any discipline (55% marks) with 1 year experience in Central/State Government or equivalent body
- OR Bachelor's in any discipline (55% marks) with 3 years experience in Central/State Government or equivalent body
Administrative Assistant (Level 5)
- Qualification: Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university with at least 55% marks
Accounts & Audit Assistant (Level 5)
- Qualification: B.Com. or equivalent from a recognised university with at least 55% marks
Age Limit
- Age limit varies by post — ranging from 30 to 55 years (see vacancy table above)

- Level 13: Rs 1,23,100 to Rs 2,15,900 per month (Superintending Engineer)
- Level 12: Rs 78,800 to Rs 2,09,200 per month (Chief Security Officer)
- Level 10: Rs 56,100 to Rs 1,77,500 per month (Medical Officer, Career Counsellor, Asst Executive Engineer)
- Level 6: Rs 35,400 to Rs 1,12,400 per month (Junior Engineer, Application Analyst, Asst Admin Officer)
- Level 5: Rs 29,200 to Rs 92,300 per month (Administrative Assistant, Accounts & Audit Assistant)
- All posts carry usual allowances such as DA, HRA and others as per IIT Delhi rules and 7th CPC norms

Selection Process
The selection will be done through a multi-tier evaluation process:
- Tier-I (Screening): Shortlisting based on academic performance, experience, and eligibility criteria. If applications exceed the number of vacant posts, the Scrutiny Committee may adopt additional or higher criteria for shortlisting.
- Tier-II (Presentation): Provisionally shortlisted candidates will be called for a presentation round. Up to 8 candidates will be called per vacancy.
- Tier-III (Interview): Candidates who qualify Tier-II will appear for a personal interview.
- Document Verification: Mandatory in-person verification of all original documents and certificates.
Note: No request for change of date, time, or venue for any tier will be considered.

Responsibilities
- Handle assigned duties in the respective department or cadre at IIT Delhi campus
- Prepare and maintain records, reports, and official documentation as required by the Institute
- Coordinate with internal departments and external agencies for smooth operations
- Manage day-to-day administrative, engineering, medical, or IT functions depending on the post
- Follow IIT Delhi rules, regulations, and standard operating procedures
- Assist senior officers and faculty in institutional activities and projects
- Monitor and report on assigned tasks to ensure timely completion

Exam Pattern
The selection process for IIT Delhi non-academic posts follows a 3-tier evaluation system:
Tier-I: Screening
- Shortlisting based on academic performance, years and quality of experience, and eligibility criteria
- If applications exceed the number of posts, the Scrutiny Committee may adopt higher criteria for shortlisting
- They may consider higher degree, increased minimum experience, or higher percentage requirements
Tier-II: Presentation
- Up to 8 candidates per vacancy will be called for presentation
- This stage evaluates your domain knowledge and communication skills
Tier-III: Interview
- Candidates who qualify the presentation round will appear for a personal interview
- Final merit is based on performance across all tiers
