IIM Calcutta has released a notification for 1 Security Officer (On Contract) post in the Security Department. IIM Calcutta Security Officer Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM Calcutta), established in 1961 as India's first national institute for post-graduate studies in management, is looking for a qualified Security Officer on a contract basis for its Joka campus in Kolkata. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will oversee the entire campus security operations, manage a team of security personnel, and coordinate with law enforcement agencies. Ex-military or ex-police officers with at least 15 years of experience will be given preference. The position offers a 3-year contract with annual performance-based salary revisions.

Who Can Apply?

• Educational Qualification: You need a Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized University or Institute.
• Experience: Preference will be given to candidates who are ex-military or ex-police with at least 15 years of experience in a responsible position or in handling security operations of a large organization.
• Documents Required at Time of Joining: If you are currently employed in a Government, Public Sector, or Private organization, you will need to submit a relieving letter from your employer at the time of joining.

Age Limit

• You should be between 40 and 50 years old as on the last date of application (09 April 2026).
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST and OBC candidates get age relaxation as per Government of India norms.
• The competent authority may relax age and/or experience requirements in deserving cases.

Salary

• The initial consolidated salary is Rs. 75,000 per month (negotiable for deserving candidates).
• Your salary will be revised annually based on your performance as per the Institute's policy.
• Medical Benefits: OPD expenses up to Rs. 32,500 per year for you and your dependent family members, plus Mediclaim Insurance coverage up to Rs. 4 Lakhs per year for hospitalization.
• Other Benefits: Mobile reimbursement and other applicable benefits as per Institute rules.

Selection Process

The selection will be done through:

1. Test and/or Interview: The Institute reserves the right to shortlist candidates based on qualifications and experience. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the test/interview.
2. Document Verification: You will need to present original certificates and documents for verification.

Note: Out-stationed candidates called for the interview will be reimbursed to-and-fro travel fares (Economy Class by air or AC-I by train) on submission of bills.

• Manage day-to-day security operations at the IIMC campus including duty deployment, access control, visitor management, material movement, and vehicle parking.
• Monitor CCTV camera systems from the security control room and report incidents or suspicious activities to the concerned authority.
• Conduct regular patrolling of the entire campus and ensure the security and police teams carry out their rounds properly.
• Handle security arrangements for all major Institute events including Convocation, Placements, and student cultural festivals.
• Coordinate with local Police, Traffic, Fire, Cyber, and Forest departments, as well as Special Branch and other government agencies for Institute requirements.
• Prepare and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for campus security, student events, entry and exit protocols, and contractor management.
• Oversee procurement and installation of CCTV cameras, mobile barricades, and other security equipment for the campus.
• Receive and escort VVIPs, Ministers, Ambassadors, and other eminent visitors to their designated destinations within the campus.
